Where to get long snowflaps.

Ok, so where do you guys get the longer snowflaps?
Need it to get some snow to my cooler.

I know Polaris racing have/had one that were made for cutting to length.
Anyone have the part # on that one?

dont no the # but 09 iqrr

The 09 iqrr uses 5434954-070, but that is not nearly long enough!
I need something like 24-27 inches or there about. (my sleds rear bumper sits 35.5 inches from the ground)
That's why the polaris racing one looked good to me.
Here's a picture I found of it here on the forum. (posted by snoman69)

Call up Wahl Bros. and ask em about the snowflap material, order up 2.5 ft. I think they charged me $8 a foot last time I ordered. It's wider than you need but it cuts real easy with a razor blade knife.

Um maybe a stupid qeustion but why would you want that tail on your mountain sled? it will do more havoc than good and after you have had 1-5 good stucks, depending on your temper and your riding buddies it will be cut off to a length that keeps the snow balls grounded and isnt in the way. Just my opinion. Cause i would rip it off and stuff in your truck before i stepped on it and pulled my back out!!!

some sleds cooling is an issue and it really helps ot have a snowflap, its amazing what they can do sometimes!!! and some people dont like rooster tails, i know people with attack 20 tracks that have to have super snow flaps to keep em from killing people behind them!!

I wouldnt mind having a better snoflap on my 09 crossfire 800 with a 141 powerclaw. It has a huge rooster tail and throws snow chunks, ice, and rocks BAD. No one will ride behind me anymore.

It is also a requirement in hillclimb and hillcross races that the snowflap must touch the ground or you sit and watch the race as a spectator and can not compete!

yeah but runnin no snow flap makes your sled faster, just like racing decals and loud pipes.

There is a rubber belt manufacturing company called Fabrica that sells remnants of all kinds of conveyor belt material. It comes in a wide array of thickness' and widths. It's magical stuff to have around. It makes great custom limiter straps..it makes for a great working surface to lay on in the shop..it covers up suspensions when I'm plasma cutting (flexible and tough so you can wedge it in there)...it makes good racing qualified roost flaps...it makes a great rock/mud guard for your pickup..all kinds of fun and useful stuff. CHEAP sometimes scraps are even free

Also note it's way more flexible then the molded flap so when you are working up through deeeeeeeep snow and almost stuck it doesn't hold you up like a stock stiff molded (snow anchor) one does. Pull a flap and go into those conditions and watch how much better your sled goes through the very very deep snow. Significant difference (tested tried and true)...but most need cooling on the trail.

Yep, like others have said, cooling, especially later in the year when its harder. I always ran a long flap on all my sleds and still do, they don't get in the way when you get stuck. Mine are just long enough to touch the ground when sitting at static ride height. The one in the picture above is a little bit of overkill IMO.

Also, people can actually ride behind you and pass you if needed. If the guy in front of me has no flap or a cut down flap and he loses his gas can or I can smell his sliders melting, if I can't pass him without getting blasted with ice chunks, then he's going to be replacing his sliders or I will stash his can and he can come back and get it himself if I can't carry it.

Nothing is more irritating than trying to catch up to someone to tell them that the trail they just passed was where they were supposed to turn, and getting blasted with snow and ice chunks while catching them.

I've been looking for the same thing for my project. Here's something I just ran across...got some color options and lengths up to 40". Only issue is they sell in sets of 2, but they're fairly inexpensive.

We can buy them here in singles, find any semi-truck store where they sell tractor trailer accessories and they should just be able to sell you 1 flap.

UBR used to have some long ones as well, contact Fastrax (Curt) on here, he might be able to help out.

Yep, in my case I need it for cooling. I bought Polarisrocks' old cooler, and it has plenty surface and lenght to cool the 1200.

I run a 159*2.25 finger track, and it throws up minimal snow in the low alt hard snow I ride in (500-3000'). Way less than any paddle track. And as you can probably figure from the picture, the little spray there is goes way below the snowflap. If I gun it a little, trying to carve up some snow, there's a rooster tail like there's no tomorrow. Trying to get some of it up to the cooler atleast. As it is now, on cold days with windswept summits, I cannot go far before temp starts rising, without using the scratchers.

That being said, and despite the fact that I do love the way the fingertrack with 300 canadian style kold kutters hook up, I'm trying the Polaris IV mounted backwards as a start this season. No studs, so I can safely lower it back to stock, without risking destroying that awsome cooler.

That and a longer snowflap will help alot.

Check out XXXMODRODS they carry a couple of options for you, one of which looks like a nut sack that I've seen on a few sleds quite a conversation peice and functional as well.:D good luck on your search.

I bought 3 of those Team Polaris Racing flaps back in the day. I inteded to make some flaps for my truck but right now one is on the back of my sled and the other two of them are under the urinal in the shop. They make great matting if ya need em to.

And NO, I ain't selling them to anyone.

If I remember right mine came from Tri-city last fall. They had like 7 left at the time and i bought 5.
