When is the 18 release?

Thanks for the detailed let-down of screenshots from the 30 second ad. It makes my decision to keep my 16 for a third year very easy. Literally zero reason to upgrade it to a 18 when I still have 2 years warranty and the 18 is identical to the 16.

So you haven't even seen the full release but already made up your mind? Do you hang out with too maybe a Doo guys? Lol

Hopefully it's BNG all around. With all the current 17's in stock they will have to blow them out next fall to encourage anyone to buy a 18. And I don't mind saving several thousand on a brand new left over. lol

Where you getting this 20" stuff from? I pretty sure that's Togwotee, I've seen that pose several of time on the internet from different sleds and riders. Looks like the base of the Boobies to me!

FWIW polaris does their photo shoot for next year's sleds AT Togwotee
I've been there 3 years in a row the week after new years and they're there every year and stay at the lodge. Never have been able to catch any photos but I'm not going to sit on stand by all day to do so either...

Word. I'll hopefully be in the new sled market by July-August. It might be easier to just buy a 2017 holdover, but I guess I'll see what the used market looks like too. I love a good buyer's market :face-icon-small-hap

But seriously what time is the release today?

Uh huh . . .and it is easy for us all to tell you are completely unbiased just by looking at your screen name hahahaha!!!

What was it you said in another thread about "trolls"??? :)

Knew I would hear from you, my buddy. :) Without doubt I'm trolling. And without doubt I am biased but it doesn't take unbias to see good fit and finish from bad fit and finish. I have a lot of trolling to do before I could ever catch up to the king of snow west Trolls! :face-icon-small-ton

With rally blowing out 17s at $10,000cnd why would anyone snow check? For colours? Can add some ext warranty on that and a wrap and still be far cheaper. Then not such a big loss to the pocket when you sell your 4 year old polaris for $6000

Doos are ugly, apparently fold like pop cans, turn stupid, but man do they hold value here.

Didn't the dealer meeting start last night. Someone's dealer had to have called with the scoop?

It started last night alright, the meeting is in Las Vegas. Don't think any meetings last night had much to do with sleds or Polaris!!?

Want the best (sane?) deal price on a known sled and don't need a 3/4 year warranty, or care about color - buy Dec/Jan/Feb. You'll save thousands. If the year starts slow snow-wise, you'll look like a genius.

Want to get a sled early to mod, want a long-term warranty, or gotta have a color or custom config, snocheck. The deals can be ok, not great, but you can trick out a current year sled. You can be a hero if there's big snow early.

^ pretty much. Or holdovers, which shouldn't really exist. Hard to go back from a snowcheck if you've had one before tho...even if just for the bling factor.

If Polaris could just stop putting 30% more sleds in to the market than will ever sell in a given year, values and pricing would all sort themselves out PDQ

That's not just a Polaris issue but an every manufacturer issue. My dealer had a great sales year last year and Ski Doo is trying to increase the number of units they have to take by 25 or 30%. They are expecting the same treatment at the Polaris dealer show today. They are given a required minimum number of units that they must take so yeah holdovers and unsold inventory are going to exist. In a stable market where do these guys expect 30% growth to occur? It isn't logical.

The business is a typical dealer-driven business model. You stuff the pipeline, and incentivize the dealer to sell, and since many are multi-line, you want them to sell YOUR brand. This rewards the big dealers, who just get, well, bigger. There is a battle between poo and doo to claim market and sub-market (like mountain) victory. Won't stop soon. However, as every OEM will honestly tell you - sled sales are all about mother nature. Big snow years make everyone look like a hero. Lots of dealers in the Midwest are gonna be zeros after this season. Low snow screws up the channel for everyone, more than stuffing the pipes.

Interesting, I hadn't heard that.

I've heard the skinny sled rumors for a couple years.
I've heard the 180hp rumor this winter.
And I've heard the 200hp abnormally aspirated rumor too.

I've also heard that it won't happen until 2019. Maybe that's not true.
