whats your older favorite sled from 1998 down

My first sled was a 1975 Merc Sno Twister 440. My dad bought it brand new and I ended up with it well into the 80's. I actually am buying the exact same sled for my second vintage sled. I am still obsessed with the Merc. My other vintage is a 1973 El Tigre 440.

Put 8500 miles on a 98 mountain max guiding in west yellowstone and never had one thing go wrong with that sled also guided on a 99 and put 8100 miles on that one and not one problem. Can you say bullet proof!!!!!!

I might catch some flak for this because these were notoriously bad sleds but I had a 93 wildcat mtcat 700 efi that I absolutely loved. The efi was a little finicky but the thing straight up hauled the mail. now granted I was only 15 when I bought it and weighed like 110 lbs so I'm sure that helped.

That thing was so front heavy that I had to use all my strength to get that thing to climb even the most pedestrian of hills. I know that the things I learned on that old iron made me a better rider today.

1992 Yamaha Phazer 2 Mountain...It was the sled I learned how to ride on a classic for sure!!

Doo

Bought it new.. 1994 Ski Doo Formula Z 583.. sled was light (in comparing to the PRS steel bodies) and was bullet proof.. won my first sanctioned race on it.. oh yea.. the only thing I didn't like (and Doo fixed the next year) was the POS brake..

The -96 summit 670 was a dream after I got the 1,7in lug track on it. The -97 Mach Z 800 was a beast with the same track and raised back end, I even kept up with the RMK's of the time all thanks to the raw engine power...

'96 & '97 XLT RMK. They were heavy but the things started every morning and ran all day without a sputter. New plugs and a belt at the start of the season, other than that... Gas and oil.

my 1964 fox trac 208

it has a 142" long 18" wide cleated go anywhere track, 8" wide by 48" long solid steel skis, and super powerfull 8 hp kohler 4 stroke with reverse

Best pre 1998

another vote for 1998 Skidoo Summit X 670. Hence the name... sold it 2 weeks ago though. Still would run with the best of them.

the 98 and up powder special, except for the motor, which is a stone, they are so nice to ride in the trees!! anything with a 583. that little motor has alot of heart....maybe i should put one in a PS:face-icon-small-hap

94 indy sport air cooled 440. over 6k miles and have changed the belt and plugs 1 time. I even took it out for a little trail ride this year. I forgot what it is like to drift around corners.
