whats your older favorite sled from 1998 down

My Brand new 1972 Elan. I got it for Xmas when I was 11, It went through heII and back, but I think I had the most fun on that sled. It pretty much only slept when I slept, or when I was at school. I remember my Mom wouldn't let me go riding if it was colder than -10, So I would reach out the window and pinch the bottom of the thermometer to get the temp up and out the door i'd go!

We bought a 1972 Cheetah 340 in 1976,

I rode the piss out of my Cheetah 20 years. I have the best memories on that one.

Sold it in spring of 1996 for $400. That was $200 more I paid for it. LOL

Those old Elans were tough sleds. Had one for 25 years don't can't guess how many miles on it.

My old 94' Summit 470. No doubt.
My dad still uses the old beast, and never had any major problems.
8700 miles. Still running strong.

1st sled for me was a 96 XCR SP 600 triple/triple with stock Fox shocks.

had the thing geared down, DG can, new track, Hot Seat high compression heads, SLP skiis, and carbs set perfecto.

great, great, great sled. sometimes i wish i still had it.

everyone that has seen this thing run says that they would like to have one...

1992 Indy

l've got a 1992 Indy 650 triple EFI all original except plugs and ONE new belt. l bought it back in 93, along with a 92 Artic Cat Pantera, for $5000 for both. The Indy won the Whitehorse to Dawson city sled run in 92. l bought them sight unseen and had them shipped to Keremeos BC. l just sold the Cat but the Indy is another story. My son came up with his 800 Cat, all paddled and piped and said dad lets go. So l brought out the Indy. It starts...2 pulls everytime even if it sits for 2 years. He said you still have that old thing? To make a long story short, he made a high mark and said do you think that old thing can come close? Well the Indy went approx 150' higher (now this thing is stock 3/4" track). On the way down he said dad, we got to get you a 2 1/2 track and pipesand l said l don't even want to know what it would do if it had that! So it's 18 and l'm 50 and l'm sure it's stonger than my heart, so son it's staying original.

The windshield isn't stock l ate that last spring
And l never lock it up because it has the best theft device a Yamaha Cover!

Take care and ride safe

99 purple 600 RMK 136. Technically it does not qualify, but... other than the hood style, it was still a 98 wedge right? ;)

Of course it helped when after 2500 miles I put a ported and polished 700 top end on it... and a SLP hi-comp head... and VF reeds with boost bottle... and SLP single... and 144x2 Camo... and slp intake... and purple mountain bar... and mesh hood with bar-mounted tach... purple-white simmons skis... sold it via snowest to a guy in Canada...

Can't round up any pics right now. Oh well.

Definitely got to go with the 670 summit X that had to be the fastest best climbing sled ever made for its time. Wasn't it the first stock sled to go over Jackson Hole.

What's amazing to me is the way the riding position has changed and how much easier it is to ride standing up now! The last few years have really changed in the mountain segment.

another vote for...

It keeps coming up and I have to agree-

98 Summit X. By far the best sled that year in my opinion as well:)
