I cranked, listened to, and watched Journey song through the 80's and 90's countless times. I clearly remember the song, but watching the video recently, it seemed like I was a "first timer" - but it could not have been.

Paying homage to the times, the Wyoming I-80 in several shots - icy road sunset and going through the tunnels by Rock Springs...., pulling the grade north out of Lewiston, Idaho..... the Vickers Viscount.... the Florida Keys.......

Pure nostalgia Rock!

I'm not following along. I used to live in that area and the grade and the background don't match. if I am seeing the same section of the video that you are referencing. If the two were in alignment, the Potlatch paper mill (at the time) would be in the background with the Clearwater river at the foot of the hill.

While we are discussing videos I will chime in on what makes a good video....

I prefer a live performance with isolated shots of the individual band members illustrating what they are contributing to that particular song. I don't need to see groupies showing their tits or a cartoon quality 4 minute movie. Just show me the musicians and their craft.

Oh, man, you are very correct on that detail. It sure looks like the Palouse region of Idaho, but your details are on point.

Maybe it is out of Pasco or Pendleton, OR?

Now I'm not sure of the tunnels being in Wyoming either, after I asked my neighbor who knew the video immediately, he always thought those were the tunnels by Carlin, NV.

The video and song is strong either way - from a dude that has been married for 28+ years...

I'm 100% confident on the Vickers Viscount detail though.
