MapX stage 2 tune

Thought I’d share my experience with Maptun MapX 215hp stage 2 tune for my 2024 Lynx Shredder RE 850 Turbo R. Prior to tuning, the sled had roughly 450 miles. I added the suggested Jaws Performance pipe & Y-Pipe, emptied the fuel tank and mixed 40% 100LL w/90 pump gas (best you can get in AK). UsingIMG_0704.jpegIMG_0730.jpegIMG_0718.jpeg

I have very little trust on Maptune. My friend burned the engine on his Sidewinder with their basic 270hp flash. Later he found out that Maptune disabled knock sensor on their tune. He fought 2 years with maptune about this, they took zero responsibility.

You had way too low octane! jaws said minimum 94 pump gas and octane boost even stock tune! maptune says minimum 94.
You know you cant trust pump gas, so means you have to add octane!
Simple math shows you ran the minimum octane, if all fuels were good.
The sled destroyed itself due to detonation!
I bet your premium was not 90, probably more like our regular, 87 or lower!
I will bet if you ran straight 100ll, you would be happy as heck and not in this scenario!

Also, That motor was run until it couldn't. That's your fault!
When it's acting up, stop and inspect and if needed tow home!
You caused more damage that needed by driving till i could not!

how did he find out they disabled Knock sensor?

You can read their tune with right tools, also they later admitted this themselves too and agreed to chip in some costs but just little. Later my other friend who is a tuner said that this isn't the first case and there has been many burned engines among the years that he knows of.

My buddies 24 Freeride turbo R has gone down twice this season on Maptune stage 1. It detonated the plug ceramic out of the center of the plugs, no lights, no codes, no knock nothing. Just drop a cylinder and its dead.

What fuel did he run?
Stage 1 and 2 require 94 minimum
They Have Low octane tune for pump gas

There is more than 1 stage one tune. Updated tunes came out in January of this year I believe. Even with the low octane stage 1 I still run 94. I always run 94, even on a stock sled.
