What will you do with all your equipment when snowmobiling is banned?

I've been thinking a lot about this latley, and I'm seriously considering selling all my snowmobiling stuff.

We're fighting a losing battle.

I think we're probably within 4 years of being all but totally banned from public land. Snowmobiling as we've known it, especially the last 10 years will be effectively regulated out existence.

I'd like to think "Well if I hang onto all of it maybe once the revolution happens I can go back to sledding" ... but I dbout that'd happen in my lifetime.

Keep the sleds mothballed and maybe one day after the dust settles and the liberals have finally been banished from existence my great grand children can pull out the ancient iron and have fun in the snow?

Sad thoughts, but I really have to wonder.

well

i guess ill have to ride illegally, if its banned with no coming back theres no reason to be curtious. guess ill get to ride the areas i cant now! make them equally illegal
rebellious
where are you getting the info anyway? i havent heard about it? but i am definitely ill informed and a bad listener

dang man, way to stay positive. May wanna look into some zoloft or something for that.

problem is, you leave the best state for snowmobiling to ride in the people's republic of colorado.

Without being negative here, like Utah is any better???

Your public lands are closing to OHV and OTS use just as fast or faster than Colorado.

What's that group that you have the anti sicker for Dog? Funded by some rich toolbag from another country?

Guess I'll have to resort to turning back into a flatlander and ride on my own ground.:face-icon-small-win

Just do as we in Norway!

Just do as we in Norway have been doing for years now, become an outlaw and just ride! The law can only be on a limited number of places at any given time, just stay away from thoes at thoes thimes :face-icon-small-win! Its pretty simple, and alot of sleders reality right now!

Get out now Dog.....from your viewpoint its pretty much closed down everywhere so whats the point

Sounds like snowmobiling is way to stressful for you any way. Between the fear of EMP killing your equipment...watching for avy's...now big brother's going to ban it anyway...why bother?

I am trying to think of another multi-billion dollar industry that was regulated into nonexistence?

Prostitution. it's illegal and it made lotsa money and helped ugly dudes get it. Win for everybody but it got shutdown. ;)

I would put an asphalt track on and go racing:face-icon-small-coo

Seriously though, I love sledding but I am sure I would find something else to occupy my time:face-icon-small-win

One of my "smart" friends. (dont have to many of those);)was a prior forum member "PPRASH" had your exact thoughts. He makes very wise business decisions/markets ect. You can say he is very conservative and steps carefully. There was a serious pending threat of closure towards end Clinton admin in late 2000 and it was looking BLEAK! Anyway PPRASH made the same comments you are. The sled market was weak, people were bailing left and right, including my friend. He took a bath on a new sled he had bought and has not ridden since. He talks about the good times but has your same skepical attitude. Then Bush came in and all the closure talk for most part was stifled. Lots of guys jumped ship for no reason.

Dont be a fair weather fan! Be a supporter stay involved and keep our sport alive.

**Edit, though you make a valid point Dogmeat I just cant help but think if I give up so will the rest of us. Strength in #'s my friend.

It's SUWA! That is the tree hugger greenie group that is trying to shut Utah off.

Who is quite vocal, has piles of cash that they could help fund a real group to fight these anti-access groups. We need an uber rich supporter that owns a corporation and would love to help the cause. Any ideas?

Ted Nugent?
an Oil baron?
