What tires are you runnin to the hill

I would like toyo open country m/t tires, but they are SO spendy. Im running Hercules Terra Trac 285/70-17's on my 05 chevy. They are a fairly cheap tire but they have been really good tires. They have a very similar tread to a bridgestone dueller a/t

I am running the Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT as my winter tire. They are not the sexiest looking tire on the hill but the fact that they are an E tire with factory installed studs makes them worth it.

I have run two seasons abusing these tires and I have not lost a single stud which I CANNOT say for some of the crap Les Schwab is willing to hustle out the door these days.

Running BFG ATs305-55-20s great traction 30000 miles no rotations and rears are still better than 50% Will definately be replacing with same. Also have had no balance issues with these as I always had with GYs

On my Mega cab I've got the stock tires yet, BF Goodrich AT's, they flat out suck on anything other than dry pavement. Even on rain wetted roads they slip at stop lights. Put some ice/snow pack and you better be on your A-game and holding the wheel if pulling a trailer, turn off the Tow/haul and E brake cause any slowing down and it's taking you for a ride. I go through a set a year, and so far the longest lasting tire I've had is the Firestone AT, I got a 100,000 miles out of them on a suburban years ago, yeah... they were due and I got the goody out of them.
The best tires I think I've ran is the Dueler A/T Revo, I got 50k out of those on a F250 and the traction was good. The Workhorse tire was another good one I tried, that was on an older Chevy and I sold the truck with about 20k on them and they were like new, those were some grippers but I never really got to try them on snow/ice pulling a trailer.

I'll definately use some of the info on this thread to choose my next set, going to try to get the BFG's to last until closer to fall so I don't wear out a set before winter. I average 4-6k miles a month, so I need a good combo of wear/traction.
