Maybe I am biased but if it is really between Doo and Poo, I'd go with the Doo. Polaris has had way too many problems with their 800cc motors failing. Even more than the problems Doo had with the crank failures, which was fairly minimal.
Doo had quite a few problems as well. Didn't you have a lot of problems with one of our XP's?
The Doo's for the longest time were belt eating machines. At $150+ a pop if you replaced a belt every couple of rides, it is pushing top end replacement.
with that I would ride both and see what you like.
