WHAT HAPPENED TO INDY DAN's LONG ROD MOTOR THREAD??

Even a pattent is only as good as the money backing it! After spending 20K to obtain a pattent, yearly maintenance fees to keep this pattent valid, you may spend hundreds of thousands of dollars defending it. Nobody wins in any of these situations but the attorneys.

Dan you may be very upset, and may have every right to be.... I just don't see this ending in your favor either way. It costs small companies waaaay to much to defend themselves in todays world, pattented or not.

Kevin, you would be correct.

But there is a massive difference between what your saying and One business sending parts to another company for quotes and then seeing them and producing them for profit by an employee of that company. brad works for CVM.

CVM is a MASSIVE machine shop that has many government contracts and brads Dad who have met is a wonderfull person I admire more then you will ever know. CVM knows first hand of the slippery slope of crossing this line.

I would bet the big wheels at CVM have no idea of brads inter workings behind the seens with all this pirating of parts sent for quotes.

Dan, a word of advice. You would do better by discussing this with Brad's dad then with lawyers. I have witnessed the legal route and truely only the lawyers win. I take no sides, I offer this just because I have read much about you on these forums and through what I have read, I have respect for you and your business. Your posts obviously show you are passionate about this subject and this industry. We all can benefit more if you concentrate on what you do best.

The masses are almost always right.

I just want to say i believe your all correct on how it will end if the throw down in court.

The sad part of all this..... if i had to look at brads Dad in the eyes in court i don't think i could go thru with any of it.

All he did was raise a son and gave him everything and he was to busy to
teach him how he ( BUILT ) his business.

its very hard for kids to walk into massive success and try to keep it real.

So that there is no speculation... I've deleted Indy Dan's lengthy post above...and the quotes from it.

There have been NO infractions issued and no "banning" done.

It is a personal/business attack that breaks the forum rules... Plain and simple.

I would do this for any other product and have been very patient with this thread and it's evolution.

Keep it clean and factual and don't "Wage war on the forums" and there will be no problems.

God I hate this stuff.
