The prices I got from Polaris was $1100 for 2 year, $1350 for 3 year $1500 for 4 year and $1800 for 5 year. Keep in mind thats 2,3, 4, or 5 years from date of purchase of the sled. so the 2 year only adds an extra year of warranty.
How ever my local dealer sold me the the 3 year for $750 on my 2011. That was one day before my original 1 year was up. Just don't want to take chances now that I'm hearing people having issues.
Retail on the warranties are as follows. Keep in mind the price depends on engine size, these are for 601-900cc (800s)
24 mo - $1100
36 mo - $1270
48 mo - $1500
60 mo - $1740
I tell m y customers to buy it towards the end of their factory warranty otherwise they run concurrent to each other and you are not getting the full value.
When I purchased mine they told me that if I wanted two years I had to purchase the 3 year warranty. It doesn't matter when you purchase the extended warranty, when you buy the sled or just before the factory warranty is over. The extended warranty starts from date you purchased the sled. So the 24 month warranty is really only a 12 month extension.
I wasn't thrilled about buying the 3 year extended warranty and only getting the remaining 2 years. However $750 is reasonable and with several 2011's burning down this year I figure $750 to ride it for the next two years and not have to worry about footing the bill if it burns down, injectors go bad, stator goes out, coils and wires need replaced, and everything else that could go wrong with the motor is worth it to me. However if I was paying retail I probably wouldn't have bought it.
Are these prices for bumper to bumper or just engine, and is it a Polaris warranty?
