As is being discovered with the Edges, the the blades near the tips of the VES guillotine blades begin rubbing on the pistons and rings, that causes not only some polished areas near the pointed tips, but an imminent engine failure as well. This is caused by sloppiness in the round slide shaft, and/or impact damage inside of the cylinder. Preventive maintenance involves simply grinding perhaps a dime thickness off of the flat surfaces that are nearest the piston, and within 3/4 inch of the pointed tips. Then trimming and buffing the burrs that are created on the blade.
