Verdict on new Boss Seats?

Agreed, the zippers are terrible! You couldn't give me another boss seat, or pay me to get one unless they fix the zippers. Most of mine are broken and makes the pocket a huge pain to get into. Also all the pockets are over kill and look kind of stupid. Other than that the actual seat is a huge improvement over stock in my opinion. Just wish/hope boss takes care of their customers and makes things right with this seat.

My buddy was in to BOSS a few weeks back and they said they have addressed the zipper issue for next year's production run and they will be taking care of all the existing ones sold this year. I'm not a huge fan of BOSS, but they always seem to take care of their customers' problems.

The ongoing problem with BOSS is that they are reactive instead of proactive.

For years its always been...next year we will take care of that? They should slow their roll and take care of stuff on the front end.

My zippers are broke also, and I also find the seat way too firm, there old seats were more comfortable. The seat is Hard. (2006 Summit X) I have a Mountain Mod seat on another sled and it is very compfortable.

Do the new ones fasten the same as the old ones?
Velcro and snaps are so old school.
They need to figure out a better way to fasten them.

Love my Boss Seat on my M8; 2010 zippers are junk. I saw some of the new zippers for next season and they are much better!

Thats what happens when you get greedy...... Chinese bull****!!!

They should stick to their old seats and be happy they are such a success the way they are. But what do i know....

i bought one rode it twice, zippers came off both times. emailed distributor, told to contact boss. emailed boss, they told me to send it to them (prime riding season), they would get it fixed and send it back to me, (i pay shipping out, they pay back) or i could wait till the season was over, pay to ship it to them, AND pay an upgrade fee of 50.00 and they would install a new seat cover with the new zippers.

i look at it this way, it was their decision to use multiple crappy zippers and pockets. (way over kill and not a needed or wanted item on my seat after using a seat so equipped). i paid 400+ shipping upfront, to get one of these new "hot seats". now i have to pay 30.00 shipping (or more) AND pay an upgrade fee of 50.00 for a new cover that should be warranteed for manufacturer defects????

I DONT THINK SO TIM!

i opted to sell the seat (at a loss) and find a different seat, without all the pockets, crappy zippers and hard as a rock padding. i should have just paid up front, and had murray at mountain mods make me another higher quality seat like he did for my nytro. it would have been alittle more up front but, in reality... faster, easier, and what i wanted in the end.

not a happy camper with boss. wont be their guinea pig again. ski

I think the one time we just looked at the seat and the zipper fell off... LOL.... that is ridiculous that they are charging you for that. Those things are junk. If I was Boss I would be embarrassed by the quality.

Cheers

I think they also were going to give you a $100 gift card for a Boss product. I know, I know, you may not want a boss product. But I have a seat now with bad zippers. They will put the new cover with they YKK zippers on it, new cover is more rip resistant. And send me a 100 gift card. I will give the card to a buddy that wants a seat. so it's a good deal IMO.

Looks like they are willing to step and stand behind it. So I still haven't sent my seat out but I am hoping they come through as promised.

i'll tell you how i feel on the "gift card" if they can offer 100.00 to me for another seat, or "friend's seat", they can darn well offer paying for replacing my cover and the shipping. all they are doing is padding themselves for more sales. which offsets the cost of repairing the ones that are bad in the first place. you could look at it as they are doing something or, they could just do the right thing.

i opted to vote with my wallet. i will not buy another boss product. i will be sending my next lightweight seat money to murray at mountain mods. he has always done me right, heck, he talked me out of buying his for my cat due to cost, when the bosses were so cheap.

now that is customer service! giving the customer information to make a better decision on what would work for them. ski
