Venting....plows and why we pay taxes

Yes, we rode there yesterday and there was a sign stating the road was closed to wheeled vehicles beyond the turnaround.

And yes it was a challenge to get turned around with a trailer, for us at least.

Hopefully they will plow the road soon as there were quite a few people up there Saturday.

:present::Dnice to seemid season form bit-hing about snow plowing and or grooming let the games begin...:face-icon-small-win:rolleyes::p:p

No bit-hing about plowing or grooming from this guy.....only the lack there-of. If they cannot maintain the roads, that's fine....but let us know so we will be aware of the situation. It's only frustrating when your digging :beer;:) Perhaps a big sign at the road entrance stating the road and turnaround is not being maintained?

The lady sitting at the entrance doing surveys.....yes, there was someone there doing surveys with the skiers. I didn't stop for details.
 Might be interesting to see what they are surveying.. No doubt there is a large chance that it will impact us.

my turn then

I'll bltch we have a nice park down here marble mountain our guy that maintains the road creagan excavation sucks and so does his equipment at least thats what he blames every year. they don't plow til dec, by then the 6 mile road up is f'n full of snow and he is unable to take care of it then we don't use the park for the better part of the good season this has happened the last couple years. i almost didn't buy tags this year and i have 4 machines. if anyone wants a form for parks to rate them they are on line somewhere on state page or if you want i can send it to you i can't send it to this page at least i haven't figured it out yet.

lol, I'll buy you a punctuation mark and two capital letters for Christmas.....:p

It wouldn't have been a big deal, but when you are stuck in the turnaround at friggin Gold Creek/Hyak and there is 12" of wet snow acting as wheel chocks on both truck and trailer, using what little energy I have to dig snow out of a designated snopark while 3 (yes,I counted them) DOT snow plows are driving 60mph down I-90 to scrape 1/8" of slush off the far shoulder....it makes me wonder. Why do I buy tabs and a snopark permit? Why are they wasting fuel when the hiway is bare and wet and traffic doing 70mph?...while there are Subaru's and trucks stuck sideways on the snopark access road??
Is it on a special "no-plow list"?? It would take them 15 minutes to clean off the entire road and turnaround. Ok, I'm done venting :beer;:)

dude - where are my props at!? I came in and saved you from certian death by towing you out and you don't even mention it on snowest! Damn. Thanks a bunch!!! :D

ha ha. the road we ridic!!!

WB Maybe it was the truck you know those fords :) or maybe that heavy trailer. I did notice that the price creek parking lot was all plowed out :)

Just so everyone knows, the snoparks are technically not open yet

To all, Technically our snowmobile registration money doesn not "kick " in till December. Most of the roads are closed to snowmobiles unless the forest service puts up the "NO WHEELED VEHICLES " signs and close the roads. We did get early snow this year so I dont think they are messing with anybody at this time. I can tell you in the Stampede, Easton , Crystal Springs area's we probably will not start grooming till the 2nd week in December. With the low sled registrations last year all the groomers had to take a "pay cut" for the 3rd year in a row. It's a 16 week program but we've decided to make it a 15 week and try and do a better job for what we have. Dont expect much grooming or plowing till the season officially gets going. You cant blame the govenor or obama for this, They do not get any of our sled money. Not enough people registered their sleds last year to put in sufficient money to run the full program. And on another note, Cresto did cancell the plowing contract with state parks, I believe the bid just ended and I sure hope somebody bid it. The bid was to plow 5 snoparks in the I-90 area. Here again our sled reg money came into play, not enough of it to make the plowing worth doing for a alot of contractors. Any questions let me know.

It just further added to the humility....a Chevy tugging on a Ford :o

And this is the one time you will catch me saying we need to raise taxes but $33.75 for tabs is a joke IMO, should be $50 and we should charge an out of state trail fee like every other state does. Oh, and I know, maybe we should enforce it...

I know, there's no point in bit-hing or writing letters, they don't even respond to new ideas. SOSDD...

jet..

dang I love to hear that, I for one agree, we need to raise our license fee's and charge the out of staters, WSSA is trying to get the fee increase, it's an act of congress to do that. Those dummies down in Olympia want to know why we want to raise our fee's, They dont get it. We might be doing a state snowmobile survey asking the riders of the state if they want a fee increase, Hopefully most of the inteligent sledders with say yes if the understand the system. Just my opinion I might add.
