Valemount Conditions and Updates

A 13 year old that can ride circles around Curtis and Dwayne.... nice.

Haha you one post sounded like you were concerned about the little guy making it up the icy trail.... those pictures make it look like he'd have no problem with anything.

A proud Papa i am. He makes out pretty good I guess. Get alot of comments on the hill and I like hearing them all. Good talking to you taday on the hill Curtis. We will have to hook up for a day once next year. We rode Chappel today it was great for april. I would have to say there was at least 1.5 feet of fresh in some place she broke in the afternoon and we had a great day.

i remember when i was at alan a dad was on a dragon (i think) and his son (12 maybe) on a m1000. the kid looked so small on the sled... he floated everywhere and showed the dad up. lol

Well we watched a guy cheat death yesterday. We were standing on the top of Goat ridge bowl enjoying the day and watching some turbos come flying over the top. I looked over a the hill climb and seen a guy taking a poke. I said to my boy those guys shouldn't be on that hill. I took out my camera as the second guy took a stab at. He made it almost to the top when the whole hill let go. He was above the slide all the way down. He got ejected at the bottom. We watched for a couple of minutes and didn't see anyone scrambling so presumed he was ok. We took off over there to make sure all was well and it was. I am glad the guy is ok. I have some pics of before it happened because there were some tracks on there from the day before. I have pics of after. And I have the whole thing on Video. It was a good thing for my boy to see I am sure it scared the sh!t out of him. It was a real eye opener for myself as well I will post the pics later and put the video on youtube. Thankfully as I said the guy wasn't hurt.

I said a while ago that a lot of guys were being a little too fearless.... Glad he was ok, and hopefully we can learn from it! Please post a link to the video. Thanks!

Good footage Sasksummit! That is a one in a million catch.

See all the guys parked in the bottom of the hill, they almost got it too.
Lucky they weren't buried also!

Avalanche course??

In light of all the avalanche fatalities this year, the heartstopping video footage of the slide at Clemina, and the amount of people riding the Valemount area....just wondering how many are signed up for the next avy course happening on April 18 & 19th in Valemount?? I'm trying to let peeps in the Prince George area know about it as well, so Zac's can have enough registrants to put on the course. They need 24. Me, my husband and our 12 year old son are signed up and are hoping that we can get the ball rolling on this!!!! I applaud the ones that have already taken the 2 day course already this season....but I'm sure there are many out there that are packing around all the safety gear and haven't a clue how to use it.

Well, numbers depending, this Easter Weekend may be our last crack at grooming:(. Last weekends numbers we significantly down.

Allan and Clemina will be groomed up tonight and most likely not again until Saturday evening with the low user numbers we have been seeing.

We are grooming Chappell again this thursday night. This is an excellent area for enjoying the sun and some nice mellow riding. Even if you have not been in the area before, give it a try, it is quite small and easy to navigate. Our Hosts will also be in the area that day, so if you have any questions regarding the area or mountain safety, look for the two brighest ORANGE guys on the mountain.

We are definately into spring riding season. Be careful out there and with all the knowledge of the bad conditions this season, USE YOUR HEAD and stay away from avalanche terrain. Mountains are easliy ridden safely with good judgment and a little bit of knowledge. Please email our office with any questions.

So we will be all set for Easter Weekend. Ride Safe and Ride Smart :)

Anyone feeling charitable?

My buddies are all out for the weekend and I'm looking for a crew to ride with to help dig me out of the bottom of the creeks in Valemount / McBride.

I'm hoping to leave Edmonton Thursday night to ride Fri / Sat.
