Valdez hillclimb updates

OK I know there has been some talk about the entry cost.

I have spoke to a couple racers/SW4M members. Here is a compromised attempt.

1st. I will talk to the Valdez snow club members and discuss entry fees as such:

MONEY CLASS:

Stock- $30.00
Improved Stock- $50.00
Modified- $50.00

And racers can only sing up for 4-classes.

TROPHY CLASS (new):

$25.00 for all classes.

top 4 get trophy's. And if you place in the top 4 you automatically bump to the money class next season..

As far as the break down for the classes I will try to get that worked out in the next few days. I think it will have to mirror the money classes. With the relaxed tech portion. IE if you have a can or ski's you can still run stock, porting and pipes are improved, and NO2/turbo's are mod.

I hope this promotes more peolpe to come down and get started. I know I won't please everyone.

For the rest of you that are bitc#&ng about the money and such if this doesn't work tough!

Understand that I have to get this approved by the President of the club and it's members. Nothing is in stone it's just a way to get this event more interest's.

Please if you have helpful information post it if you want to complain talk to your dog or cat..

If this works my business will donate $350.00 for the trophy's in the new class. I like the event and I would like to see more people to come down and enjoy it also.

Racing is a big part of it and with out the racers coming down nobody want's to watch.. And it might stimulate families to get involved.:beer;:beer;

Hey Spook,
What would be the chance of entering 5 classes like RMSHA changed to this year and then also bring the calcutta back to offset the lower payout with the lower entry fees? With the lower entry fee there would not really be a need for a trophy class. Since tech will be relaxed my sleds are all stock right?;);)

I made a type-o It will be 5 class max.

As far as the Calcutta. That goes beyond my abilities.

The only reason I am attempting to get the trophy class is to entice new racers/begginers. Like I said Stanely It's just a rough draft. It's an attempt to spark more interest's

And for the tech portion you my friend will have to part out your sled!!:beer;:beer;

Can someone post up or linky to a race schedule?
Thanks!

The schedule is as follows:

Friday we race, Friday night we drink. Saturday we race, Saturday night we drink. Sunday we might race, Sunday night we drink.:beer;:beer;

I joke I joke. Seriously we start racing Friday at around 10 am. we sill start with stock and move into the imrpoved. of course it depends on weather, and the amount of racers as to how fast we move into the other classes.

Speaking to a few of the members of the club. This year you will have to register early, and will not be allowed to enter a class just before it starts. And we are going to stay with the 5 class rule.:beer;:beer;

Hey spook, I might like to do the hillclimb if I can manage to make it over to valdez, but I've never actually seen it. Is 144 a feasable track length to make it over the top with, or am I just kidding myslef? Is it just a straight shot to the top, or some sort of course?

Thanks
Garrett

Garrett,
Your 144 should do well. It isn't "a straight shot up" Picture a down hill skiers course where they cut around the flags on the way down a twisty hill....The only difference is you are going "up" the hill around the flags. The spring snow there should be set up and unless they get dumped on should not be allot of "powder". You will see all kinds of tracks there, 136", 144's, 150's, 160's etc. The corners will get rutted up around the flags as the bigger sleds go up, that is why they start with the smaller classes first.

It would be nice to get a fresh dump of snow. How about 3 feet of fresh with the beautiful sunshine like we've had for the past couple years. :cool:
