Under the Hood Bag

Off topic, sorry, but I see you're water level is about the same as mine - if I try filling to the line it always overflows. Everyone else in the same boat? Mine's a lot more discolored than yours tho! New sled or you ride in perfect conditions all the time?

Cheers,

G

Its brand new

Wow the price though???

Anyone used the RSI underhood bags to compare? $15 vs $50...

I sell the WPS one's and they work great in most cases. In my application the heat was too much and warped the goggle lenses. I could have mounted it differently and not had a problem.

In response to the question about water level. Most engines find their own level. If it sets itself at a certain level, isn't overheating, pukes itself back to the same place after you fill it to the top... LEAVE IT ALONE, it doesnt need the extra 3 oz of water you are forcing on it.:face-icon-small-hap

Can you ride all day with items in there, or will it melt the items eventually?

I would like to keep my spare goggles/gloves in there all day.

I leave two pairs of gloves and a spare set of goggles in the bag all day or until needed.:face-icon-small-coo

I used one of the cheaper underhood bags last year. Can't remember if it was the RSI or WPS. It was, hands down, the best accessory I bought for my sled. A warm pair of gloves and goggles was so nice to put on. The wet set would go in the bag and would dry out fast enough to use on the ride out to the truck at the end of the day. When my buddies were struggling with fogged up soaked goggles(their spares) I had a perfect set. Priceless. I ordered the same bag from my dealer for the Pro(used it on a Ski Doo last year). What is better about the Polaris bag? I don't mind spending a few extra bucks as long as it's worth it. Thanks.

The factory fit is the big thing for me. I had a problem where the vents on my IQ would allow snow into the RSI bag. This new Polaris bag has the vent side blocked off and the mesh faces away from the vents so it should stay dry. Plus it is larger than the RSI/WPS bags.

I chose to save my money and go with the RSI bag. As long as I mount it at the right spot and it dries by spare gloves or goggles I'm happy. Pretty sure the cheaper RSI bag will get it done for me.

I do and it's the best Polaris bag yet. It fits perfect and has foil on the bottom to dry your goggles without melting them. It looks small in the pic but opens up behind the panel.

I got to get one of these hot doggers:face-icon-small-hap , how do they stand up to the vibs from the motor .

The engine mounts have been tuned to stir and heat a bag of Little Smokies in a Muff Pot perfectly in about an hour of riding (longer if posing as a mtn rider). A Hot Pocket may require turning once to eliminate the "hot/frozen" burrito effect.

Spot on, mounting location is important. If you mount them too close to the exhaust, under hard loads it may create too much heat.

Our bag is $14.95 and works on all sleds.

Thank you,

RSI bag mounted on my sled. Looks like an ideal place to mount up on top and nice and clean. I think it should be plenty far from exhaust.

Way cheaper then the Polaris bag and should do the trick! I can fit 2 goggles in there. If that's not enough for someone get 3 of these bags and it's still cheaper then even 1 Polaris bag!

Would it fit or can it be made to fit on the other side? I know that that side lacks as much heat but If I wanted some more storage would it work?

Looks like it could be mounted there. I think a better spot would be under the headlights where there is lots more room.

I stole the Artic Cat bag off my M8 before I sold it, fabbed up a bracket. Mounts in about the same spot as the Poo bag ( I just said Poo bag). Theirs runs about $30. I like that the Poo bag (I said it again) has more room for goggles and gloves, though. Might look into it.

How did you get it to mount up there and stay there. Looks like a good idea.
