Explain! The term "redskin" came from the 17th century from the Beothuk people of Newfoundland who painted their bodies with red ochre plant now please tell me how that term that does not point to the skin color pigment and only to the color that they painted there skin is racist?

Realistically I am guessing that he would make quite a bit of money from a new name/logo. All the people with jerseys/hats/shirts would go out and buy new jerseys/hats/shirts with the new team/logo on it. Also factor in that he is now going to be receiving no revenue from his trademark logo if this is allowed to stand.
Is the logo for the KKK, or Aryan Brotherhood trademarked? I know that the Hell's Angels logo is trademarked. These groups definitely preach, and act out on hatred/violence to others.

Just change the face from an indian to something else, leave the name as is.

There have only been two professional surveys on the subject of the redskins name and are Peter Harris 2002 and University of Pennsylvania, Annenberg, 2004. The Harris survey found 83% of Indians either supported the name or did not care, Annenberg found 91% were not offended or did not care. So again we have the tail wagging the dog where less than 17% of Indians want BIG BROTHER to eliminate the rights of over 83 % of the balance of the Indian nations. Do you need me to post the picture of the remaining Navaho Code Talkers from WWII in Redskins jackets supporting the use of the name of the team. I would tell you to do your homework before you open your fingers for typing but I know as a liberal you just ignore the facts!

I guess our Redskins aren't as politically correct as you then~ the injuns here even endorsed our local high school that goes by Redskins~ heck~ even the res has a school going by it!! just goes to show how whiny society has gotten and everyone afraid to step on anyones toes~
