A friend of mine has a 05 cummins dooley with all sorts of goodies on it - took it to AK Raceway this summer and got under 14. Granted I would never buy something he has owned because of what he does to his stuff... but it was impressive.

catkiller, you are right on about the weak headstuds on the 6.0's...everytime the black smoke is pouring out, and the boost needle hits 30 as all 4 tires break loose i wonder........






so how is riding at turny...somebody had to go this week...

My guess is she meant under a 15. She doesnt have any mods to my knowledge just a lead foot and a boyfriend that doesn't know how to drive ;)

You have other problems if you cant get that thing under 15, with too mods I would bet money that you were 14.5 or lower, especially with the great air we have here. If I can hit 14.79 with 100 less horse you should no problem.

Has the best of everything including the full Edge programer and exhaust. Loudest truck I have probably heard and runs like a freaken beast ( 7'lift 35"tires ) He gets about 14mpg highway ( not pulling ) and truck runs mid 14's. Im sure there are many faster trucks than his but he has put a lot of aftermarket stuff on it and it only runs mid 14's. It would take quite a bit more for him to get into the 13's

I agree that it takes a lot to get a truck into the 13s but I know you can do it with a daily driver, go to dodgetalk.com, there is a bounch of trucks in the 13s that are daily drivers.

Now the SS, if it runs 14.5 stock, which I dont think they do, it would not take 2 grand to gain .5. All you would need would be headers, cold air intake, and a custom tune.

I gained about a 1 sec from stock with a programer, intake, power wire, alum
17s, and some weight reduction. Cost, about 660, alot less then 2 grand. And I aint done yet. Low 14s is my goal. More mods to come this summer.
 
rode turney today. UP top was a complete waste of time. The olny good bowl was down and right the rest sucked. the wind got to everything. Now on the Lower part of the mountain it was deep. I found 3-5 Foot pockets blown in. me and the pop came across some guys on 02 800x summits. maybe it was someone here hardly any trucks in the lot and a F7 got towed out. Sucks. O Fyi. Placer sucks. way 2 icey.
 
A little fresh over a very hard base. Me and Caleb made the tracks in, no one else there in the past few days. It could use another foot or so and less wind.
 
thats odd. when we were up there we saw some guys on Rmks pulling snowboards and stuff with them. Hey Chad if you wana ride Sat at turney we know some sweet areas that prob wont be all tracked up. we put the first tracks in there. O. I broke my windsheild off Getting some air. Went Over the bars and my kneww caught it. TREES SUCK.

Ya, but the Dodge's are typically slower than a Ford 6.0 or Duramax. With big mods, they can be bombed out better than anything but with the "standard" exhaust, intake, and power module, the Fords and Chevys will usually smoke them. The v8 diesels rev really quick and they have WAY better automatic trannies behind them. Hopefully Dodge's new 6 speed is an improvement.

I’m on my 2nd Duramax and real happy with the mods available for it. As a word of caution the Allison transmission is awesome but it can still only handle so much. I had to upgrade to the Suncoast stage 5 Allison with their braces and converter to handle the extras.

I am bummed to hear the snow is wind blown down there, hopefully some new snow will help.
 
left placer and hit turney today for my first ride, there was 8-12 inches of fresh. it was nice. it got tracked out by 1 in the afternoon but it was nice. might be back tomorrow. later vance
