24footjet, was waiting for someone like you to pipe in. I`m as far from a bleeding heart as you can get. Ask anybody who knows me you are wrong there buddy.

Is it fair to condemn this guy without all the info.Because that whats going on in this thread for the most part. If thats how it works in the states you can have it.

What do we know as fact so far in this thread.

Fact 1= three young men in lifted duramax
fact 2= It took place at 2 am
Fact 3= person driving a white f 250 with ramp in back(deck)
fact 4 = men were heading to some airport on trip to who cares
fact 5= young man was killed
fact 6= driver went home took off deck.

Yup now looking back at it you guys are right , fry the priick.

As far as speculating goes I`m not the only one giving my what if it happened this way version. But since you asked I will give you yet another version and I will keep simple so you can follow along.

Its 2 am, raining, the driver of the white pickup?(we will call him killer for the rest of my story there azzwipe to keep you happy).Killer was at a local drinking establishment with his friends. Had a beer or two but not drunk. Killer packs it in and decides it time to head home. While driving a lifted pickup comes up behind him and trys to pass dangerously risking him and other vehicles. As they go by killer sees its three 21 year old punks?(that all he sees) and figures screw that you little punks game on. Maybe gives a little chase. The other pickup sees this and lets say over the next little while they have a little chase maybe touch paint. Then at one point the young men loose control and go into the ditch. Killer sees this and goes fock ya there you go you little focks payback for your dumbass driving. But then killer starts thinking, shiat man things got a little out of hand maybe I better go back and see if they need some help since a fairly isolated to road this time of night. Killer turns around and heads back. As he approaches he sees the three young men standing in the road. He slows down and comes to a stop. At this time the three young men who are furious come up and start pounding on his vehilce telling him to get out and that there going to kill him / beat the crap out of him etc etc. Now fearing for his life because its three to one he starts to drive. This only angers the 3 men more and they really step up the smashing of his vehicle with whatever they can get thier hands on . Again fearing for his life and yelling at them to move or he will drive them over if they don`t move. They don`t so in his paniced state he floored his vehicle in fear of his life and unfortunately one of the ladds did not get out of the way.

If it did go down like that would you really blame the guy? Be serious now. And if it comes out "killer" mowed them down for no good reason then by all means put the piece of shiat away for good. I believe using your vehicle as a weapon is no different that a firearm etc. And should be dealt with in the same manner.

Yes there are a lot of unanswered questions, like why he did not call the police. Why take off the deck? Hey we were not there.

Were not all like you there 24jumpstreet. You would have just shot all three as they passed you because you can do that down there. I watch the news it has to be true.

Screw you 24iq for making me type this much.

Later i`m done with this thread.....................

Save it and go watch a Michael Moore movie hardkore, drum something else up.

People want to excuse everybody's actions, "well he really is a good dude."

He just ran somebody off the road, turned around and ran over one of the guys, killed him, drove home, took off his sled deck to conceal his identity... oh wait, he probably did this because it's the end of the season... that night... it's really easy to do.... because he felt he needed to do it that night....never called the cops and said, "Hey, I just accidentally ran a guy over... he was trying to kill me, so I felt I needed to run him over, then get out of there and not tell you about it."

Then you bash a guy who goes to church and start saying crap about him... saying he isn't an angel and he's going to party at spring break blah, blah, blah.... you're hanging the religious kid... just like your *****ing at me about doing to the KILLER of the high school kid in the ditch where he was just run into by the KILLER.

I'll bet you're a Canadian detective aren't you.

Later, I'm gonna go blow off a couple rounds outside, grab my dong and spit some tobacco in my spitoon, cause we shoot everybody down here.

Idiots, can't see they do the same thing they ***** about others doing.

Are you saying if you knock someone into the ditch, you're not going back. Isn't that hit and run?

You seem to know a lot about the case. Are you an armchair prosecutor? Are you familiar with the area? Do you know what happened? I don't know maybe you were drinking with the guy. If so please fill in some details.
If the guy was going back to kill someone why did he not get them all? If that was his intention why leave any witnesses?

.

I guess my sarcasm went over your head. I'm talking about the KILLER, not myself. Yes, if you run someone into a ditch and leave it's a hit and run. But lets give the guy some credit, he sure went back, KILLED a kid and then ran. "Do I know the area?" No, but that's be well established in this thread, I think I get that. "Do I know what happened?" Yes, a crazy man ran some kids off the road, went back and KILLED one of them. "If the guy was going back to kill someone why did he not get them all?" Pretty simple, if a madman is heading tward a group of 3, 3 people are going to run in different directions and he is going to aim for the easiest. Anything else?

Very plausible about the deck clippin and killin the guy,he's deffinately guilty of sumthin, and yes we still have way 2 many lawyers and laws.

Regardless of any scenario you may put forth, I will state a couple of known facts that no matter how you spin, these facts will never change. The man hit a human being with his vehicle. That human being was killed. The man then left the scene and made no reasonable attempt to contact law enforcement. (I say resonable because in this day and age you are never more than 1/2 an hour away from a phone.) He went home and removed the sled deck. Regardless of the circumstanses someone is dead. And I still say the man is guilty of something.

There has to be a LOT more to this story that meets the eye. I read in the paper this morning that it will take anywhere from 60 to 90 days to get the facts about this case so a decision can be made. If it was absolutely clear that it was intentional, the accused would be in jail right now, but instead, he was released after 24 hours. I am very anxious to hear the "complete" story.

Went past the site this morning. I'm not sure if this was brought up in the press or not. If so it hasn't recieved enough attention. Silas was in FACT making an illegal pass over double solid lines at the time he was supposedly ran off the road.

It is double solid yellow for over 750' because it is at the crest of a small hill.

I believe a lot more strongly now that Brent was going back to exchange insurance info. If he did have damage to his truck why not go back and get Silas' insurance to pay for it.
It might not be ethical but you know the old rear ender claims. If you rear end someone it is your fault. If you pass over double solid it's your fault. If it comes down to he said you said the judge usually follow the rules of the road. ie: following to closely ... passing when it is not safe to do so and disobeying road signs(double solid lines)

This does in no way condone what happened or what transpired after the event.(taking off the deck really bothers me) But might shine a little more light on the very unfortunate event.

Hardkore: The O'Briens are very religious. It is not an act. Those boys were not drinking. They were going to Hawaii via Seattle.

But even religious kids can get mad when they are supposedly ran into the ditch.

Maybe Brent was going back to exchange insurance info. There was supposedly damage to both trucks.

.

YEAH RIGHT!! I am sure he was just going back to "exchange insurance info"! What's next....you going to try saying that he was just taking the sled bed off for his truck's annual cleaning! POW

It's funny that this thread came back up. I just googled this story yesterday but there have been no updates. As I mentioned back in March....there is a lot more here than meets the eye, otherwise the accused would be in jail. Hard to believe the case is still not closed after nine months!

This is probably the real story.

The driver of the truck is drunk. The kids try to pass him, and he swerves. the kids go into a ditch. The driver of the truck turnes around to help them, and is confronted with three kids telling him that they are going to kick his ***. he guns it, but one of the kids was crossing over to access him on the drivers side, so he could kick his ***; He gets hit.

The driver of the truck doesn't stay because he is drunk. He panics and tries to conceal his identity.

I am allergic to alchohol so you won't find me driving intoxicated, but I'll bet over half of the people on this forum drive drunk at least once a year, if not once a day.

Lets get the facts.

WTF doe's "This is probably the real story" mean? The post on 12-16-@11:22am asks. Doe's anyone know what the outcome of this was. We are not looking for more rambling sh!t that was posted up to 3-18-08..........

Wow. That was bravely spoken. You just managed to insult and call half the people on SW daily drunk drivers on a poorly made assumption. I'm not sure, but I think you assumed that because you claim to be allergic to alcohol(do you start to sneeze or itch?) that you somehow had the right to judge the rest of us. You probably thought that the other half that does not drink and drive would not be insulted and you would be wrong. If you would have put any thought into your post you might have realized that it pretty stupid to say.
Here's what probably happened- You saw a post on some very sensitve subject and thought you would chime in with your holier than thou attitude. Talking without thinking is probably a thread that runs through out your life or maybe you are just 16 or 17 and do not know any better yet.
You probably do not know anything about anybody on this forum or any other so have the decentcy to not judge, assume, or even comment on matters you know nothing of. It's probably real easy to talk big on the internet as opposed to saying potentially insulting things to peaple's faces.
Perhaps you are a pretty smart person that just shot his or her mouth off. I don't know but you might want to think before you type.

I don't feel like that statement was judgemental at all.

The way many of us talk (or brag) about our beverage of choice, it's natural to assume quite a number of us have driven after "a few" & many of us likely do it too often.

Holy shipcaptain, don't be quite so sensative people!

Furthermore, his guess of how the events may have unfolded are as likely (or unlikely) as any others I've read.

And here we go again. The question asked was, does anyone know what the outcome of this was. NOT whats your guess..................

Well until Dick Tracy tells us just what really happened, I see where nothing is served by jumping all over the guy for throwing out his guess.

ok driver was innocent...the guilty guy is the guy that belongs to the floating feet they found on bc coast...end of story..csi will have a show on it to explain all...meantime lets have a nice weekend
