TRS clutching NA

How much does rider body weight, luggage, tools, etc. play into these shallower helix set ups? I would think that the more weight being carried the more this set up needs to change. Thoughts?

There hasn’t been much change from a 180-280# rider, 100rpm.
From over the hood to packed snow.
If there is a roller washer/spacer missing on one of the rollers you will see a 150-250rpm loss. If the roller eats into the spider it will be more.

Something is not right that is for sure. Your track speed and heat is the first indicator.

my experience is much different. I will take his clutching over a high dollar big bore. Even seen his stock set ups give turbo sleds fits. It just flat works.

If anyone can figure it out. He can.

My track speed with 66g belly busters and carls helix was 45-47 mph but i was only turning 8050 maybe 8100. Put 64g belly busters in and rpm goes up to 8250 but i lost about 2mph track speed. Feels like the 66s just run out of belt squeeze on the top end. Dont think there is anything wrong with my sled but could be wrong.
Tony has been talking with me about whats going on and trying to figure out why

I had the same experience as dktraw in respect to the Belt-to-sheave clearance. Not much change, went from .022 to .024. It sounds like Tony has seen a much larger change in clearance. Is there a way to confirm that we are in fact getting the correct weights? When I talked to Rogers they didn't seem to know anything about a special heel cut or anything different about the weights. I believe that this clutching setup works, just hesitant to install until I can confirm that these are the correct weights..... For the guys that this clutch setup works for, can you confirm a large change in sheave clearance like Tony has seen?

I’ll check my weights. I’m hoping there weren’t runs with different heel cuts.
I won’t be able to check until Thursday or Friday.
I check belt to sheave with clutch removed from the machine and pinched around the center hub.
Dustin ordered the weights from Speedwerx, so Brian or Randy may not know there is a difference.

These are the weights Rogers Sports Center sent me. 62.4 grams. The heel cut on these look identical to the ones on Speedwerxs website. Can anyone tell by looking at this weight if its right or wrong? Thanks

Run a weight bolt through it and a 10 series. Set the heels on the counter. With the tips hanging off the counter. Look at the difference in height where the roller contacts the weight. See pic for ref. on how too

Found a 10 series weight laying around. Closest weight is a 10 series, second and third is Speedwerxs.

So the package says 62.4 grams but nosman4 put them on a scale and they weigh exactly 61grams. Little confusion there.....

When I push down on the pin all three weights are sitting flat on the heel.
The tips are off the counter on the 10 series a quarter inch. The speedwerxs are an eighth inch off counter.
The curvature the roller runs on are identical from heel to tip. The only thing different that i can tell is the bottom side.
On the bottom from heel to half way point of the weight is identical. From half way point to tip is where it changes, as shown in one of the pictures in my above post. Thanks

Thanks, I’ll check that against mine on Thursday. With that said, your belt to sheave would be the same as 10 series. Your L’s are not the new Cat cut.
My concern is if I have more tuck under.

Just so I understand your response. You are thinking we have the wrong weights from Rogers possibly or you won't know exactly till Thursday. The Rogers heel cut is basically just the Arctic cat heel weight?

You have the correct weights.
Wondering if mine have a slightly different cut. I set my clutch’s for lightning weights. When installing the Speedwerx in the same clutch they are both close to the same belt to sheave measurement.

Here are a few closer up pictures. The speedwerx weight looks slightly lower in all the pictures where the initial contact of the roller sits. I guess I'm confused in your statement of "you have the correct weights"... How can we, if you have a different cut? All of your testing has been done with your speedwerx weights... If you have a different tuck/cut then these weights are different and may or may not work with your setup... Did they change something? I was expecting a different profile than the 10 series weight with the way you talked about the 10 series being obsolete... Guess we will wait until Thursday to see what you find with yours.

Speedwerx Hammerheads are not the same as a 10 series weighs.

I get that they aren't the same, I was just referring to the profile that the roller touches. That looks almost identical, but the weight is distributed differently than the 10 series.
