Do u guys run a wind shild and if so what height do u like the best? Please tell us what sled u ride and reasons Y or Y not!!

To start it out I ride a polaris edge and run a windshield until the snow starts to set up cause i need it to keep the snow out of the intake but as soon as the deep POW is gone it comes off cause i break them anyways!! And i rarely do when the snow is real soft!! O and i run a 9" when i do!!

Ilike them for looks only...IMO they are basically non functional. I end up breaking them, they don't keep wind off me or make me any warmer. I had one on the beginning of the season, but a mishap, and it broke, rode the rest of the season without one. Had I had one on all season I probaqbly would have went through 3-4.

I was riding a zx chassis, this year a 04 King cat, and just got a M1000, I'll be taking the windshield off of that as well.

Haven't run one since '01 or so, waste of $ when you break them. Without the windshied the pow hits you in the chest instead of the face 98%of the time. If you ride trails all day every day then I could see having one, but for real riding I go without

I don't ride the mountains/deep pow exclusively and I really like my windshield bag. I run a low profile (9"?) just to protect the bag, and since it's there I slapped some decals on it...you know for the extra HP.

Yea i only run it in pow so that i can pack extra gloves cause they get wet from digging artic pu55ys out on pow days!!

FYI, to keep you from breaking the windshields, just use zipties to hold them on. They will break and the windshield will just pop off with no damage....want proof?

Look close and you can see my little white windshield poped up in the air above my hood on this 30 mph crash...

Ride where I live during the winter and you'll want a high windshield too. Low one is good for April/May when it finally warms up.

I buy one a year.....the beginning or the year its there, but by the end theres nothing left of it...wonder where it went?

Yep local shop clearence rack i got 3 for 25$ a peice and zip tie them back together to get them to make it a year!! Ill post pics tonight!!

I've found the stock one on my 09 X summit doesn't serve any purpose, other than looks, and have left it on. It's short enough that it won't touch or compress when rolling your sled. (Maybe it's due to my higher than stock risers), but the bars always took the brunt of it. When I rode my Rev chassis, I'd crack the windshield 2 or 3 times a year, but just drilled holes along either side of the crack and stiched it up with some colored zip ties. Worked great, gave it some extra character, and saved $.
