THUNDER MOUNTAIN LODGE SNOW REPORT

Ryan, so is that your sister in your avatar? if so, is she available?

Did she pick on ya much as kid, seems she's kinda bigger than you.

:focus::focus:

Avy danger is very real for the time being.

We noticed "whoofing" of the snowpack in several places. We set off one slide on a southwest face that slide to the ground. Until the sun comes out for a few days, and it keeps snowing the conditions could get worse.

It's the camera angle dude, I swear:face-icon-small-win

Unless you're talking about how she can beat me up physically (I am kinda a wimpy little kid) :face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-coo

Lost internet for a while last night and today. Mountain living! Anyway 8" overnight leaves us with a grand total of 72" since Friday. Very wet and heavy on top of the powder earlier. Slides should be fairly common. I'm trying on the pics.

Everyone should read and heed Diz's post. He is one intelligent man!

I got plenty of responsibility that keeps me off the mountain.

That's why I enjoy sneaking off to Thunder Mountain Lodge where I can escape from it all.

How about a morning update!

And geez...would it kill ya to post a pic or two Mark?

Garcia - a couple of us are heading up right now . We will be in a gray ford with a white enclosed 4 place. Problem is we don't know where we will be parked. If you run into us, you are more than welcome to join us. Bring a snorkel.
Jeff

Thanks for the pictures Mark!

May I make a suggestion? There appears to be a great deal of snow loaded on the corner of the lodge roof over the dining room. You might want to get that out of there before it comes crashing down and breaks out the dining room windows. That would be bad - and I have seen it happen somewhere before. Took the guy FOREVER to get the windows fixed.

The dopes from WI will be there in 13 short days!

That's funny about the window, I was thinking the same thing. We were actually sitting there having lunch yesterday when that roof load cut loose and filled up with snow right to the bottom of said window. It scared the hell out of my step-son when it cut loose.

On that note, lunch was great and burgers were huge. I think Billy is going to do great. I told him we would probably have 13 for Dinner on New Years Eve.

Mark showed me one of the new remodeled cabins yester day. All I can say is wow. They are turning out awsome. I can't believe the before and after.

It's amazing the big difference of having someone own and operate the lodge who cares.
