The plumber

Socialism, lets talk socialism. If i understand the concept correctly, society shares the wealth and the loses. The bailing out of the stock market, due to the past eight years of "trickle down" must be called at least partial socalism right? There is only one difference, we didn't share in the good part of the equation. Now, you joe the plumber, dick the carpenter or fred the mason are paying the bill. Your tax money is not going to help the needy its going to help all your buddies there on wall street. They must be your friends because nobody is complaining about that.

Honestly how many of us on this site make even close to 250K. If you do make that much, you don't think you could afford a couple percent increase in your taxes so the rest of us can have a little break from footing the bills.

I honestly don't know how a middle class citizen can look down on a tax cut and be upset that if they were ever to be graced with making a quarter of a mil a year that their taxes might go up a bit. Come on look at the facts. Is it Obama's economic plan or is it something else? Be honest.

Where do I start? I guess the "great divider" Obama really is reprogamming the minds of many. Off with the heads of the rich. Your middle class tax cut is coming out of someone else's pocket.

You didn't own a house that's value skyrocketed? You didn't sell it at the peak of the market, and make a bunch of money, before the crash? Sounds like a bad financial decision to me. You do realize that the bankers weren't the only ones making lots of money? Plumbers that owned homes in California sold them or for a fortune, and moved somewhere else. Bankers gave out a bunch of bad loans, to people like plumbers. Those people tried to flip the houses with no equity, a lot of them didn't know when to stop, and got burned. Everyone that sold or bought a house over the last 20 years probably was part of this problem also. So actually, a lot of middle class people were in on this one.

The rich shouldn't mind paying a few extra percent????? You do realize Obama is proposing rising their payroll tax by 6.2%, and their income tax by 4.6%? That's 10.8%!!!! You realize that almost all the taxes come from the rich to begin with? That's why the top 10% pay 55% of the taxes. I don't know how much you make, but if you make $40K a year, married, gross adjusted, your only in the 15% tax rate to begin with. And, if you take advantage of many tax deductions, you could be paying closer to 10%. It just so happens that your social security and medicade are 9.1%. So, that's all your really paying. Your not paying any income taxes. If you make $200K, your in the 33% tax rate. Let me know if you don't really understand fractions, most people don't. So, your not only paying "more" money, your paying an additional penalty for making to much money. This is how our country gives lower wage earner a hugh break to begin with.

Most "rich" people didn't make their money off the mess that's happening now. Some did, but you'll probably find that teacher's, and plumber's, and firefighter's mutual funds benefited the most. It's not fair that rich and upper middle class have to bail this mess out, but that's what it takes to keep the country running. Now, if you said let's hunt down the people that actually caused this mess, and string them up, well now I'm behind you.
