The Get your FIX for the RMK 800

Nobody......tore it down last night, head, exhaust side cylinder and two pistons=done. I need to get it fixed, so the fix or back to oem with the intentions of a turbo in the summer.

If your warranty is up why would you even think about OEM stuff? Obviously it doesn't work and this kit isn't much more $$$$. I don't see why a Turbo would make a difference.

Is anyone running this kit at elevations above 8000 ft? Since it's EFI, should it even matter?

Thanks,

-B

Most with turbos have had less problems than stock. I think most of it is the fuel controllers with the turbos, and others claim boost helps with piston slap.

I just figured he's running na for the rest of the season. I can't imagine the kit hurting once he goes Turbo.

i too would like to see the results of this

What do you think of this flash with a PCV from dynotech with the kit? I sure wish you guys could get a sled to dynotech and have him test it. I think alot of us trust his unbias testing and would love a proven map from Jim that matches this kit. It seem like you guys might of solved the piston slap issue. But I still think that the D8 have a lean fuel issue that a PCV addresses.

I will share the dyno results later this week since my sled will be on the dyno on Wed or Thursday. I can also tell you even if the sled did not make anymore power which it sure feels like it does it runs way stronger then it did stock.

Polhiker, yes I have the pms kit installed with the original higher compression Polaris cylinder head with the original map installed that was designed for that head. I have also plugged off the hoses to the exhaust valve solenoid and changed the exhaust valve springs to the pink springs and my sled runs better then ever and is very strong power wise.

Anyone know of any Canadian dealers selling and or installing the 'Fix'?

correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that PMS Polaris is the only one that sells the kit, and any dealer should be able to install it for u, but for a price. it comes with very detailed instructions so u could install it ur self if ur up to it. u will need to take ur cylinder to a dealer or machine shop to hone it for u, cost around 20 bucks.

Thanks, you are correct, and that is the case. I had PMS drop me a message, that they are hoping to set up some Canadian Polaris dealers.
I was hoping to be able to avoid some of the duty costs and hassles involved shipping cross border, if I decide to go that route, but still undecided on what to do with my 09 RMK D8 that only has 31hrs on it, and no warranty.

Parts should be duty free, should only have to pay GST. Get the parts shipped USPS, will probably be cheaper than waiting to buy them from a local dealership!!

Thats true. If I buy something from the States and the only way they ship is UPS, I buy from somewhere else. Also, USPS is twice as fast and they dont end up losing your **** like UPS.

Great to know that Timbo, very reasonable cost, thanks. How long did it take the Fix to get to you?
