The build is under way

No it does not come with the kit, it's a piece that I made myself. Looks like you have a bigger mess than I do. You'll have to post some pics when you get it done.:beer;

HeyPal, that what I had in mind.;)

Good job! You won't regret it! The argument is.."Well the PC adds weight too." Yes, sure it does. But it nothing compared to the weight of all the snow/ice build up you get with a plain tunnel. Trust me, I have see it with my own eyes. What color are you going with?

Updates Please

How are everyones summer projects coming along? It snowed 6" in Great Falls today, so we've all got the itch.

Not yet. I'm working on the snowflap mount this week. Should start working on the rear cooler in a couple of weeks. I did get the bumper mounted, I'll get some pics of that up later today or tomorrow. It's a slow process trying to figure all this stuff out.

Here's a few pics of how the bumper is mounted. I used k rivet nuts or nutserts, with grade 8 bolts.

Here's a few pics of how the snowflap will be mounted. Still need to get the nutserts in the side of the cover plate for the snowflap, so it's tied to the bumper for added support.

On the last pic I was thinking of leaving that piece of aluminum like it is, or do you guys think it may get bent? I was thinking it may help with keeping the flap from getting sucked into the track. Or should I cut it down and use straps to support the snowflap?

Sweet, what are you going to do for a cooler?

I'm still working on the plans for that. I'm going to mill one out of a piece of 1" thick aluminum. Should be a little heavier that the stock one when I'm done with it, but it will be flat. It will be around 14"x15"x1", that way I don't have to change out the coolers on the inside of the tunnel.

How about folding that snowflap holding aluminium slightly backwards? The aluminium would be more stiffer after that and snowflap points more back and may not enter the tunnel.

Mounting

Ya- Sure looking good- I hope mine goes as well.

No word from BDX on their conversion leading to my tunnel cracking:mad:
I have a few things for their ear if they ever nut up and call or at least P/M me.

I was thinking for you a simple soultion..... Dennis Kirk has a "W" wire made to hold snow flaps up and back to prevent the flap getting sucked in.
When I comverted my sons 97 RMK 700 from a 136 to a 144 with Rail extensions I bought the "W" bracked and have not had any Issues..never did a tunnel extension-didn't have to with the "W"

It is a cheap fix- black in color and really does work!!

Just a thought for you Trundra monkey.....

Can post pi'c if ya want

Are you sure the 2.25" paddle can pass by the cooler upfront? The bulkhead is different from an M. I was going to do this untill I found out the bulkheads are different. The info I got could be wrong, I never got out the tape measure to find out.

I've had a 2" track on it with no problems. And the bulk heads are the same, just different part #'s. The M8's are different because of the reverse, the hole for the dd is bigger. The crossfire and a m-series 141 are the same size tunnel.
