Tall guy setup.

So I'm 6'3" and I just got a bigger riser on my machine to bring the distance from boards to an even 36". How does this compare to the newer machines? What other changes are you tall guys making?

depending on the make year model of your sled you can find longer steering posts..

i'm 6'3 also.. I normally go with the pivot type risers for more adjustment and a better feel..

yeah, What sled we talkin bout here

I'm 6'3" also. I put a 10" riser on my 06 Rev and made all the difference in the world. I had a lot of shoulder pain the year before I added the riser. Nice to be able to stand without hunching over the bars.

I'm also 6'3" and am tired of being hunched over the bars. I always went with tall risers on my old sleds and then I'd just tear the steering post in half. Maybe the newer sleds will hold up to it.

I'm 6'3", put a 8" riser on my ZX platform and made the biggest difference in the world! For what they say about new sleds being taller, I've found the opposite to be true, they seem like the running-board to handlebar height is shortened, that's why I stick to the old chassis!

i'm 7' 3." i had to lower the factory bars on my xp because i have long arms..!!!!!!!!!

But what about the throttle cable

who and what works best to extend the throttle cable? I have the powermadd but it doesn't work all that well. Any ideas?

Are you Grape Ape?

He's a 7 foot purple ape who has really long arms and drives around on a sled with no riser... It was a cartoon from the late 70's early 80's. I think he rode around on a JDX8

I use the bars from an 05 M7 it gived abut 6 or 7 inched of rise on my 900 rmk

I'm 6'7" and just put a 6" riser on my IQr. I've ripped the steering post out of every sled I've ever owned.....we'll see how this one makes out!!

Here is a better pic of Grape Ape's arms!! He definitely wouldn't need a riser HAHA!!

get in touch with Darin (student driver) at gravityworx racing http://www.gravityworxracing.com/ and he can hook you up with what ever you need. He also carries the full RSI line too but if they don't have what you are looking for, he can probably make you what you need. None of those stupid Powermadd cable extension boxes but trick looking cables...
