Switched from Cat to Doo for the year

I wrecked my 07 M8 153 the first week of January and decided to buy an 08 XP 154 hold over. I was very happy with my M8, but got a good price on the XP and wanted to give it a try.
First ride: The engine seems very strong and am sure it would outclimb my M8. The sled is very stable and can see why a more sit down rider would like this sled. I was not able to make it sidehill like my cat, but am hoping with a little experience it will. I pulled the sway bar off and am hoping it make it easier to lay on its side.

Great choice! Now make sure the riser is the same angle as the steering post and that will make you stand back further. Put on a 2 wheel kit and maybe some slydogs and it will sidehill/layover great!

^^^ This is very important. The chassis lets you stand so far forward as it is that if you put the bars too far forward you'll have a hard time getting the machine to want to stay over.

removing the sway bar helps. put a two wheel kit on it and it will help even more.
I actually like riding farther forward on the xp to keep the front end down. My riser is strait up and down.

add a little front trach shock tension and decrease the ski shock setting and try the bars about here:eek::D

Now that is some REAL FUN CHIT!!!!!!
lmao!!!
i think you just about got them all!!:beer;

I went back and forth between the M8, Dragon 8 and XP8 ended up getting the M8 based on my experience with Cats and the best dealer. I think its great that we actually have 3 very good sleds to choose from, can't loose no matter which way you go. I bought the cat so I am very happy with my decision, after you figure out how to make the XP handle the way you want you will be very happy with it as well, as long as the bugs are all worked out of it. I would think that any holdover would have all the updates done.

Ride the he!! out of it and have a good time, who cares what brand it is when your sitting on a mountain top in 4' of fresh, view is the same.

Exactly, have fun. I wish I could afford one of each. Alright, well maybe two Cats and one of everything else. To each his own. Good luck!
