Sub Forums?

I think it's a great idea but no real good ideas right now. Most peeps don't want to post about their riding areas.
Maybe current Avy Danger would be nice. Just a click away.
We could put Rock Star in charge of daily updates.

ALL of the geographic forums are going to get a set of standardized sub-forums in the near future.
Bring this up in the Moderator forum and we can begin the discussion of just what sub-forums should be standardized in all the Georgraphic forums.
I think a swapmeet section is a good idea. Or maybe you could just make the buy/sell thread a sticky one.

Sorry, but I'm really getting tired of the cluttter in the other sections. And no, the "browse all" option doesn't 'fix' it for me.
I will allow that a 'buy/sell' just for Utah would be ok. But nothing else. We don't have the traffic volume to warrant splitting it up.

OK so maybe just make the buy/sell stick to the top? I hear ya
just be patient with the changes, the forums a great right now, but they can be alot better.
I really miss the private thread we had on the old forums, it was nice to have emergency contact info on there if we needed it, among other things, I would love to see that come back.

Christopher said they don't have private threads but they do have private social groups. You can set it to invite only and set the threads within the group to private so only members can view them. Here is the link he posted to set one up.

I liked the private thread thing too.
Snowest has been a good forum, no clutter, easy to get to the info I wanted to see. I worry that is changing. I'm hoping as I get used to it the speed with which I can navigate around will return to what it was... right now, it's more of a pain to come to the forums and read through and post than it's almost worth. For example, the drop down list of forums at the bottom of the topic page has gotten so long it's tough to sort through.
Yes, the forums can get better... but they can also get worse.
I'm a software developer by day... I've been doing it for lots of years. I learned a long time ago that understanding the problem that needs to be fixed or the feature than needs to be improved, from an end user standpoint, is the best way to go about changing stuff. If not, you just confuse and alienate your customer. Too many times in my career I have seen a developer or development team implement what they thought was "cool" and it get rejected by the user community.
But I digress.
