858 Updates Coming from AC????

I did everything Woody said in a previous tutorial. Mine is stuck in lock and unlock. Period. I can not bring up any other settings at all. This weekend, I am going to disconnect hood connector, plug back in. Start it up, go into "settings" and just try to reapply driver set-ups in hopes of getting the icon to switch back to drivers or soft, medium, firm. Then, I'll see if the handlebar controls will work again as advertised.

Although it was only $100 more, I still regret getting this ATAC. Between the A-arm interference to the sensitive switch and/or software glitch, it's not working. Had no issues on my '21 just setting my QS3's before the ride and taking the 60 seconds to get off sled to put into lockout/unlock.

MTN_VIPER was at our shop today getting his reflash and we were testing with his sled. You guys are right, the system is not working as it should. When the ATAC system is unlocked (green) you should be able to toggle back and forth between ATAC suspension settings 5 positions) and rear shock lockout function with a quick push of the center button. They are getting stuck in the lock and unlock function. This is only happening on ATAC mountain sleds as the trail and crossover models only have the five dampening settings.

Whoever thought up how ATAC works is an idiot. It's just awful. I would bet money that the person behind it is a trail rider and there's either no lock-out option on those models, OR it didn't occur to them that maybe mountain people would have trouble with it.

This SHOULD be correctable with a firmware update... but at the rate AC is laying off people, they may not have anybody to do it. OR... I wonder if the aftermarket will have that level of access to things to fix it for us.

Edit: Thinking about it a bit and coming back... we can't add anymore buttons of course, so maybe a good way to fix this is to change the suspension setup to having another mode. As I remember reading above, white is G8 mode. Press and hold for green. Okay, good. Center press at this point (lock/unlock) should be changed to go into another mode. So in green mode, left/right does as it does now... driver 1, driver 2 etc. Then center press again switches to, let's call it Yellow mode. Once there, left right toggles lock/unlock and nothing more. Press and hold again and it goes back to Green. Press and hold again, goes back to White.

What would be even cooler is add a touch-screen option on the G8 so you can avoid the buttons if it's confusing or not cooperating. Would be easy to just add a screen you pop over to, make your change, and then switch back to map or guages, etc. Seems like Apple is the only company that is decent at User Experience design.
