stock hp on M sleds??

I have been looking for the quoted M8 HP myself... No such luck yet.

Just a guess 146 on the M8 and 162 on the 1000.

They were always so proud when the F7 and M7 came out. They always mentioned 140 hp, but now there down on power compared to the others. It happens to every manufacturer.

Maybe cat doesn't bother posting HP #'s anymore because their sleds produce a lot of tourque at low RPM?
People seem to focus on HP only.
What I would like to see is rated HP and tourque for all brands.

I agree would be nice to see the numbers I'm betting there is a lot of variance between sleds that's why ya get the approximate numbers. that's one thing I like about my apex torque:cool:

Claiming the sled has 154hp is just that, a claimed hp. D8 is showing to be one of those.

It's great when the "under powered" 145hp STOMPS the 154hp sleds!

Just curious what happens when the underpowered 145HP sled runs up agains a 151HP sled?

:beer;

the D8 might be making 154 hp but they gotta turn what is it? like 8200rpms to get that, same with doo. where as the cat is hitting 145ish at like 7500 rpm. i would probably bet money that the torque of the cat is much greater than the other two. and IMO the torque is a little more important for the mountain riding.

There is some question about the D-8 claims. The cat M-8 makes more power at a lower rpm then all stock 800's .
Also the M-8 made more power than a D-8 in the dyno sheets I have seen so far. Whats up with that?

Never seen this before on the m8 let alone the m10..............

STOCK m8's and 10's are dissapointing to me.......:face-icon-small-dis BUT when you add a few MINOR mods they really wake up. Choked off exhaust maybe.

Could you supply a source for your info 'cause i last saw in the snowtech that the d8 was around 153 - 154hp stock on the dyno. I havn't seen one m8 much over 140.........

You actually do notice it when you ride them too, d8 pulls ALOT harder!

That's funny that you say the D8 pulls a lot harder because I have never seen that. If both are stock it goes to setup in my opinion. I am not going to argue over this but I have seen some M8's basically stock that run really well and look on dynosources to see the D8 hp numbers, they are not that impressive stock and did not put out any more power than the M8. Also the M8 makes it's power at a very low RPM and is the most relaible 800 in my opinion.
