Start the flood pics...

what crazy about the rock sides is those people down that road past your house built there houses among those rocks that came off the hill and some of them are bigger then trucks!!!

I hope Seaside makes out OK. I love that town.
I have property in Ocean Park, about an hour north of you in Washington.
We make the drive to Seaside a couple times every year.

A.R.: Ocean Park is a cool little town. I used to deliver broken pallets to the oyster farms there. They throw them into the water to make artificial oyster habitat. The odd thing is, Ocean Spray is RIGHT THERE, yet I couldn't find any Ocean Spray cranberry juice anywhere in town.

PM me the next time you're planning a Seaside trip. Dinner's on me.

We didn't quite make it to '96 levels, but we got our fair share. By noon, the day shift had closed the road to low-profile vehicles (cars, mini vans, smaller pickups) and was only allowing larger trucks through. I staged light plants at 2:30am this morning, as the water level on HWY 101 was reaching the point where the road would need to be closed to all traffic.

Then it just stopped......

We're still closed to low profile vehicles, but I think the water might be receding a bit. A sink-hole has developed on HWY 53 as well, so it is one lane traffic only. I'll know more when I go back to work tonight.

Again, I hope that everyone up there made it through the bad weather without damage or loss. Oh, if anyone gets a chance, please check in on Yammadog.

A few miles east of Cle Elum along hwy 970/Teanaway river. Real bad situation. My guess is that the Teanaway valley further up river is in real bad shape too.

Pictures taken by my neighbor.

The Cat is sitting on what is left of hwy 970 at about milepost 5.5.

So this is where you leave Cle Elum, curve around north towards 970 drive a little ways and then you would take a left on teanaway river road to go up to the campsites? This was the valley and houses along the sides of the road that you drive past?

Yes. This is just before you get to the Teanaway bridge on 970, and the Teanaway turn is about 1/4 mile past the bridge.

Here are some WSDOT pics> Just amazing.

Should be a great boost for the construction businesses that have been looking for work lately...
Who needs US bailouts when we have mother nature at our side. ...just hope the insurance companies don't go the way of the financial institutions...

Alert

City did ZIP to prepare. Actually, this is one of E'burg's worst floods for 50+ years. Only time it was worse was the big '95-96 flood. Course we had 3' ft of snow on the ground then AND the Yakima River was only 6" higher in flood stage. I've lived here for 34 years and this is nasty.

I've been on my backhoe a LOT the past few days keeping my place dry. Hope the creeks and rivers drop soon.
