BB, I wish I could always sleep well at night....having a non english speaking neighbor (russian) who builds bombs for fun is nerve wracking to say the least. it has been pretty quiet since he poped the last one, I snuck my bike within about 50 feet of hs open window at 5AM and held it about 3/4 throttle with the choke on......he must have been woke up, cause he was as pizzed as I was at 2am the night before.

Hey SSH, I talked to the lady manning the gate at Mica(IEP) she said she is there till November, I would assume the same will be with Thompson creek. She said she was there till just after our big snow last year.

She told me there was 2 seperate 4x4 elk taken from up there in the last couple days.

the white stallion is comin along.....:):beer;:D

BB, Many good points on the interrogation issues of the day. I am still at a loss though how any of our leaders who support water in the nose as unethical treatment can watch video of our innocent citizens being put in a position by terrorists where making a decision to jump 40 floors up is their best option for end of life and still go public with that notion. I get even more ticked when they talk about bringing crimminal charges against those who provided the very security that you described with little or no recognition or appreciation. We never know who they are so we can never say THANK YOU.

I wonder if those who produced video of our people being beheaded with a dull butcher knife are coming under criticism or threats of punishment from their leaders. I know health care is the flavor of the week, but not for me. i think we need to get our priorities right on this one first. Lets face it, how many of us in the days and weeks following 9/11 thought we could go 8 years without something similar to that event happening again. I'm sure the terrorists didn't just take a sabatical, someone did something about it. If that something included water up the nose of some rotten basteges in trade for 8 safe years then I say so be it. THANKS again from the President on down to the unkown heros for the great sleep I've had these past 8 years. I will no doubt need that rest for the next 3+.

On a funner note, took a trip to Seattle Saturday morning to speak to a group considering the same weight loss surgery I had. It was a great bike ride and met some great people about to make a big decision for their health. Went down to the warf for some alder smoked fish and people watching. Had breakfast in Woodinville today at a place called The Maltby Cafe. This place was the bomb. Their cinnimon roll will easily feed a table of 4. Best breakfast I've had (The Montana Skillet). Great ride over Stevens with a stop in Leavenworth for a dervienerschnitzel and grog, then Lake Chelan and home over Sherman. What a blast. I love my bike. 509 fest next on the slate. Have a good week peeps. EW

What were you guys after? That looks like a full blown recovery mission.

Whit...it was a full blown recovery mission...lol....Doolerious blew turn and a very high rate of speed near Moon Pass...anybody that knows that area knows is REAL steep!...He had an angel watching over him cuz he bailed with the bike high in the air and grabbed some scrub trees that bent over and let him to the ground where he started sliding down backwards...scary stuff...and he only got some nice bruises to show for his effort...although his bike will has some battle scars.

took w while to cut a path with a chain saw thru the brush and we winched it over 250ft strait up the mountain...another 10ft to the right and it would have been real bad as a boulder field would have jacked him and the bike up bad for sure.

This was taken down near the bike...it doesn't look like it but its VERY steep.

looking back up the hill...

thru the boulders

on to the road...

It was bruised but not beatin...to drove on to the trail...

Morning.

Epic weekend of riding...fun, fun, dusty and then fun!!!! Got some pics to share later. Rode hard yesterday, very technical loop. Rocks, roots, single track, loose sand/rock hill, more single track and rock. Then some sugar sand, some sugar sand hills and some more sand. Finished with bumpy river bottoms.

One odometer read 65 miles, we figure 45-50.

I'm making a post in the Gravy/Ford section later with all the riding pics....for obvious reasons.

Just a couple, Kaitlyin and I riding with mama on the back and Emmas first dirt bike ride....just had to be with her Papa on a dang KTM and we raced and she won:mad::D:D

finally got my chassis done other than some new rear suspension brackets i'm having made. here's a few pics

doooolerious...remind me never to go on atv ride with you. everytime you go on a ride, somebody blows a corner...scary stuff, glad your ok...slow down!

whit...the whole burandt thing is interesting...if i had to pay to do it again, i wouldn't...with that being said, if i had somebody else's money, i would do it again. your a cat guy, so you would feel pretty comfy on his sleds, i wasn;'t and now i want one.

as a whole it was fun, but not worth the money in my opionion...it was just different. the terrain was nothing special. we have the same stuff here, if not better...some things that bothered me were

1. if you couldn't keep up, you had no clue where the heck he was going.

2. if you didn't ask, what is your plan, where are you trying to go, then you were lost all day long. he would go somewhere, and you didn't know if you were supposed to follow or not...kinda ackward...

3. it was a late start everyday...they would get back on work on the sleds, wake up and work on the sleds, then work on the sleds somemore.

4. if you weren't a cat guy, they would let you know it...

5. im sorry, but tree riding is tree riding, the northwest is full of tree's...do you need to fly to colorado to ride in some tree's?

6. if your into hill climbing and banging chutes, and big open play area's...don't go, you don't really get to do that...refer to number 5

7. it's expensive...

8. your riding at 10,000 feet...im fat and out of shape...need i say more

pros:'

1. the food was great, the house was nice, if you took a buch of folks and had the house to yourself, it would be sweet. they feed you breakfast, then dinner, then they leave and you have the place to yourself...chris isn't there 24/7 he goes to his own house to sleep.

2. valadation: this let me know where i was in my riding ability...a couple of times it was him and i waiting on the "others"..i asked.."well how am i doing?" his reply "your here and they aren't"

3. he does show you a thing or two about how to use the m series sled, a few things that my ski don't wont do...a few things that made me want a new sled, but not worth justify the cost...

jason...if you have a couple thousand laying around wasting in your pocket..go for it, if not...don't...

oh you must have thick skin....you can only listen to a 19-20 year old kid trying to give you so much crap without wanting to slap him...(his cohort and a$$ kisser sahon)

oh if you enjoy hanging out in a shop that is full of co2 smoke, and looking at sled parts, and looking at sleds with their hoods up and a guy constantly working on them....then this trip is for you...it was boring at night for me, because i don't feel the need to wrench on things all the time....

I had pretty much made up my mind that like you said....we've got killer riding up here and not worth me flying, driving, taking my sled or riding his for that price. If I want a lesson on tree riding, I'll go with you, Tim, Allen Mangum, Budd and Amber on and on. 2K for three days of riding, no thanks. Did you order a new M?
