Rode Sonora today with Sierra Sleder.Absolutely no one there but the two of us all day.So much fresh powder we couln't track it all up.Was very cold in the am but got much nicer in the afternoon.Epic way to finish the year!!

Sonora Ride - Tuesday 1-15-13(Eastside)

Our Reno group hit Sonora and had the whole place to ourselves. Unloaded at the first gate(West end Marine Base). Coverage beyond the gate was good. The only patch of road that we saw was just before the second hairpin(left) turn above the Leavitt Meadows corrals. Hit Ski, Leavitt, Koenig and Latopie Lakes, the Elevator Shaft, the Notches and came out at the top of the Pass. Ridgetops still rocky and windblown. Bowls, chutes and drainages were great. Sunk my avy probe into the snow just off of Koenig Lk. and got 7ft. 2'-4' more would close the deal up there. Temps were in the low 30's. Found lots of areas that were untouched from last weekend.

FYI - There is a box at the big sign near the gate that has the BWRA permits inside that you need to fill out. Leave a copy in the pad and take the other copy with you. So now it's necessary to carry a pen with you when you go sledding. It never ends.

Any of you guys make it up there this weekend? What have those north winds done to the place?
