It was the best of times, It was the worst of times...
Had ankle surgery last October, wasn't working at all until January, wasn't full time until March or so. Have to have the same surgery done on the other foot

within next year or so (hopefully not as extensive). Slipped one past the goalie and will have another carpet caterpillar to feed next spring

. Frickin' insurance through my work is a high deductable health savings account, looking at 7K in deductables alone on wife and I if I have foot done next year, not counting food, gas, diapers and formula. But so far I still have a job and a paycheck (knock on wood). Cutting corners everywhere we can to save money for bills when I have my surgery.
I work for the John Deere dealer here in Kalispell, and we are feeling the pinch all over. Our sales of equipment is down, and farmers are pushing older equipment harder to get the job done and spending less on replacement parts. One excavation outfit who has one Deere tractor and the rest Cat has their whole fleet for sale down the road from us, water trucks, crawlers, forklifts, etc. Plum Creek laid of 80 employees from one of it's sawmills in the valley, several excavation companies laying off workers going into slow season. And its only going to get worse...
But as stated before, now is a buyer's market. Heavy equipment, vehicles, sleds, etc are going for cheap beacause nobody's buying.
But I am fortunate to have a roof over my head, food on the table, a wonderful family, a sled that's paid for, and a computer with internet access to share my story with fellow bubbleheads!
