Snowy Mountain Lodge snowies is the worst!

Made a reservation at the Snowy Mountain Lodge over the phone for this weekend on the 25th. Was told about $50.00 non-refundable fee and that was it. I was forced to cancel the reservation because my son fell ill (he had his tonsils out last thursday) on Friday night for Saturday arrival. Was told very rudely I might add that they were going to bill me for the entire stay. (almost $1000.00) There is a 14 day cancellation policy (even though I booked the stay three days earlier) The website says if a call is made to cancel within 14 days they will bill 50%. I wasnt to check in until today at 2pm but they billed my card last night after we spoke. They billed me $984.00They must really need the money to play these games!!

We used to stay ther a couple times a year, but got tired of paying the high rates. Try Winter Creek next time. Kind of a pain to trailer up everymorning, but at least you can fill up with gas that is not $4 a gallon.

Sounds like Snowy Mountain Lodge is a place to stay away from. Have been thinking of making a trip out there one of these seasons. Will take my business elsewhere.

Last time we stayed there was 2 or 3 years ago.

One waitress was .....not nice....is probably the cleanest way to put it.

She did not want to serve us food becasue they were going to close 1 hour from when we were going to order(we came in sat down and were ready in about 5 min to order) and treated us like chit. Walked away, not saying she was even going to serve us. Got pissed becasue she came back to take our order, and one guy went to the bathroom.

She also went to a table a few next to us, and was rude and chewed there butt for not tipping her well enuf. Last time they ate there. Didn't try to be quite about it, she made a sceen.

One guy at the table, told her she did get a whatever% tip last time. She got quite, then the guy told her she didn't even deserve that. And she damn well would not see another tip from then again.

other than that, no problems. decent place to stay

Would recommend Mountain Meadow Cabins further up the the mountain. They are good people and clean cabins. Plus you save a little by making your own food at night!

Contact your card company and tell them what happened and that you want the bill returned.
They can cancel the payment and get your money back.
If they didn't notify you of the 14 day cancellation policy, you may be able to get all or most of your cash back.

If nothing else, you can make yourself a major pain in the azz and it won't cost you anything more.

That's not cool. I would recommend driving around the mountain and staying at the place or the rendevous in ryan's park next time . I just got back from there and we left a day early and they did not charge us for the day we had booked but didn't stay. It's a bit of a drive if you come from the east side of the hill but well worth it . The snowy mountain lodge is a bit of a rip off as far as prices go .

Plus you can have an adult beverage (which you can't buy at the snowy) and the food is excellent at either place. Our cabin at the place slept 3 people and was $90 bucks a night. And we only payed $3 a gallon for gas.

I hate to hear you got ripped like that! Good luck

Yep.

Thought of staying up there in December but decided on the Old Corral in Centennial after reading postings on here about the Corral. Had a great stay there. First day though we blew right by to the top to ride. Figured we would buy our Wyoming stickers and fuel up at the Snowy Mtn Lodge. We were amazed they didn't handle the stickers and had a bit of sticker shock on the fuel. They claimed they didn't make any money on the stickers and we shouldn't buy fuel in Centennial because they had water in their fuel. We knew right away we made the right decision NOT to stay there. Had a great time with all the bars in Centennial and our sleds ran great all weekend on their fuel!! Heading back there next week!!:beer;

Ryan park is a much better option

We have stayed at the Rendezvouz lodge in Ryan Park as well. That place is awesome. It is currently for sale so hopefully whoever buys it will keep it a lodge. We have a friend of ours that lives just up the hill from the lodge.

I contacted my bank and they are going to put the charge to Snowy Mountain Lodge in dispute. We have a friend in Centennial today and he said the lodge was jammed with people which means they probably rented the cabin and are collecting someone elses money on the cabin that we paid for already. What jerks!!!!

I can tend to be a rather large pain when you try to screw me over. You know what they say... A woman scorned...

porta boy

i dont think those people that run the place have any idea what they could have if they would show just a little respect for the people that come up there and spend the money that pays there bills

Stayed back in January, cabins are nice but very expensive, the restaurant is a joke, the place seems to be going down hill and their sitting on a gold mine

We were out there on wed staying in Lariame and trailering up thought it may be faster to unload and get fuel up top BIG mistake they charged us 4.00 per gal $2.13 a gal higher than in Lariame. We expected to pay more but not that much more. Also the lady out front shoveling the porch was not very pleasant. We rode for 4 days snow was great wind was bad and never stopped back at Snowy Mountian Lodge:

Snowy Mountain

We stayed a Snowy mountain years back (8 years ago) a couple of times and had good luck. The last time after the lodge had changed hands we booked again (4 months in advance). The call came 2 days prior to our arrival telling us the water was frozen and had no place for us to stay !!!! Well about a month latter we found out they had no such problem and had just bumped us for another party !!!!! Have not darkened their door step since. Ryan park / The Place or The Rendousvous (Other options too) is worth the drive around. Don't miss the hot springs in Saratoga.

Stayed 3 nights @ the Old Corral in Centennial last weekend. Very pleasant people and had a great time for a decent price! Most parties in our group of 7 have stayed there everytime they come to the area...that says a lot. I'll stay there again next time in the area.

Shi__y Mount Lodge

We had a similar situation happen to us last year at that hell hole. We got hosed on our cabin and had to pay full bore till we contacted the credit card company and stopped payment. I wouldn't stay there if it was the last place up there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would stay in Laramie and drive every day before I wasted my time there again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey I here you all when you say the place sucks. We were there in Jan. and talk about expensive, and water in the gas. We stayed at Mountain Meadow Cabins so we ended up filling gas at snowy mountain lodge...ouch. Had two mornings we had to get the hair dryer out to get the sleds to run. Cant prove for sure that it was the gas,but funny it was after filling there both times. Didnt have any problem the times we didnt. Would recommend Mountain Meadow Cabins tho. Had a great time, snowed every night, and they even let me use the shop to repair my sled from hitting one of those moving trees. New member here and like the info

Stayed there last year with kids during spring break. We usually stay at Albany, in case of wind, or Mountain Meadow. Couldn't get into those places as didn't call soon enough. Get there and they tried to charge me $200+ more than they told me for an 8 person cabin when booked a 6 for 4 nites. Went to the truck and found my notes and name of person I talked with 2 months earlier. Guess what they found their notes when I come back in that sez the same thing. Tried to blame someone that wasn't working that day for the mistake and would honor what was agreed too. lol
We try not to buy gas there unless it's a couple gallons to get us back to Albany. They are always $1 or higher than anyone else on the mountain.

back in the good ole days...the place was awesome! never a un-satisfied sledder weather it be beer booze or women. But now its a POS place and wouldnt reccomend it to my worst cousine. There are some places that just wont accomodate sledders and that is one of them.
