SLP stage 2 kit, is it worth it?

lots of people don't seem to think the pipe is worth that much money since it doesn't provide a larger gain. although it is hard to say what i pipe is worth i tend to disagree. keeping in mind it comes with a pcV, the pipe is comparable to previous years. for me the power increase was quite noticeable. i had to add two grams of weight to the clutch and i'm still pulling slightly higher, more consistent rpm than i was before i added the pipe. in comparison, everyone raved about how much of an improvement there was when adding a pipe to the dragons, i didn't see it. although it did help clean things up a bit and it did run better after i put the pipe on, i am way more impressed with the added performance the pipe gave to the pro over the dragons. i had my own clutching already and i didn't buy the high flow intake so i can't comment on those. i am also planning on putting on a PA head this fall, we'll see what that does.

Ok, thanks for the input sounds promising.

I had a SLP single pipe on an 600 HO a couple of years ago, really liked the snappiness I was able to get with the right jetting, and that is also what im looking for now.

Anyone else with any experience running this setup?

Good to hear phatty!

I just ordered two stage two kits, one for my 2011 assault, and one for my friends 2012 assault.

But I guess Ill have to make some "modifications" to his setup before handing it to him since I looks like the 2012 sleds outperforms the 2011s;)

In the process of installing a modified version of the stage 2 on my 2012 pro. Basically instead of using the slp intake I used a bunch of flow rites in the dash. Looks alot better and doesn't stick out.

Going to get some miles on my '12 Assault befire I do my usual thing of tinkering.. Pretty interested in how this turns out, but less than 8hp for $1350 cdn seems spendy.. have to wait for some real world results from users later in the year to help make an informed decision..
Leaning towards a head/can/tuner combo..??

Installed SLP pipe/can, fuel controller (PC) and V-force reeds last winter when they came out on my 11 Pro. It was a noticable gain, but for the $$ involved....not sure. I went up two grams from my original Struthers clutching, and in McCall (+6000 ft and up) it did not like it at all. Went back to original weights and much better. I did lose 100 rpm though, which upon further investigation would tell me it was slightly richer than stock. Possibly SLP was wanting to sell fuel boxes because they gave it just a tiny bit of fuel (according to a reliable source)
Overall it did pull harder in the mid range, bottom is still great, but still didn't gain much on top.
I also took the very restrictive baffles out of the air intake and installed flow-rites.
Hope this helps
