No wonder I'm so turned around here! The book I've got on the topic - Two-Stroke Tuner's Handbook by Gordon Jennings - was written in 1973. Surprisingly, there are a lot of mathematical computations and explanations of the physics, and nothing about sacrificing animals or ritual chants. Must be some kind of voodoo math though - it's even ten years older than me for Pete's sake! If someone could point me to a book on 2-stroke theory with the up-to-date math, I'd appreciate it.
