Sled for GF....

I say you buy her a Polairs, My 2end fav company i would say skidoo but........ you don't like lmfao easyer to get Unstuck??? lol no way to convince you Eh? no big deal. polaris Dragon would be a sweet sled to buy her that's all i have to say.

Thank's Jonny

Thank's everybody for your help, even steamboat and ollie. Everybody has thier way of thinking and steamboat made me laugh with the thought of this will be my backup sled!!At no point did I say I was buying a big bore.I said a stock 700 or 800. I have two great sleds allready and need no backup. This will be HER sled in her name and she will be free to do what she wants with it.

Dana is not the typ girl like coyote girl said. She sees the good in everything and when we did take her riding last year in horrible conditions as soon as we were done she asked when she could go again.

If I came across as condesending I am sorry, didn't mean to.I have a hard time getting my point across sometimes I guess.I never said I was buying a mod sled for her with a million hp..I said a STOCK 700 or 800 and they just are not high hp sleds sorry!!

From now on I'll stick to asking my friends.Everybody have a great winter and have fun riding.Later.:)

Oh and Budd, thank you for posting that,I wanted to ask your opinion.I highly respect how you setup sleds, they always work great.

Nice post Dana. We need more people like you on this forum.

I'm confused,Dana(my gf) didn't post anything. She is not even on this forum. Or is someone else that posted on this thread named Dana?

Oh,and yes with friends like coyote girl I am very lucky!!!!

They make sleds smaller than 800 cc's ?

The 09 M8 is sweet , but i have heard rumors of good deals on 07's still in the box. Everyone knows those 07's were no good .

Mark,
I agree with getting a big sled, my first sled was an 800 and that was before I could drive a car legally. You don't have to hold the throttle to the bar, its just nice to have the power there when you need it. I would shop around and get whatever she feels most comfortable on and you can get a good deal on. With the Economy and the weather so far all screwed up, dealerships aren't running out of sleds anytime soon.

Thats my take on it anyways.

My vote would be for the RMK, my wife rides an 06 600 and as previously stated I would need to use dynamite to get her off it.

Reason's she picked it as her sled:

Girl friendly seat, it has a narrow taper that is more comfortable for female riders.

Very easy to carve

Starts easily and runs consistent

There are a few things we did to make it easier for her to ride.

2" bar riser
Carls sway bar kit, made it easier for her to get it into and hold a long sidehill
SLP SLT ski's
Warm windshield
Ice Scratchers
Vents

All in all she love the thing and it has elevated her riding level faster than any other sled she tried. She did not like the M6 or Crossfire she tried out, I personally think the seat turned her off to it before she was fully able to evaluate the sleds engine and suspension. And at the time we bought they had no RER, she HAD to have reverse.

Hello everyone. I am Dana, Marks GF. I appreciate all your opinions to help decide a good sled for me. Some of you are funny!!! We have found an 08 M8 sno pro I am excited to ride & will be shredding on this season! :D

Done deal.Picked her up a used 08 M8 sno pro that is in great shape tonight. Now time to tear it apart and add some goodies!!

Off to Fastraxx tomorrow!!!

We almost have my new sled done.We worked on it all day yesterday and part of today putting some new stuff on it.

It started out weighing 501 lbs with no gas. We changed the muffler, seat, took the bogies off the skid and put a two wheel kit on,a new 156 camo extreme track and SLP powder pro skis,SLP air intake kit and two flow rights in the airbox, hyperfax for the skid,Mtn Addiction billet wheels, also put a Cutler torsion spring conversion in the secondary and 72gr weights in the primary to start. It now weighs 483 lbs.

The weight saving breaks down as follows...
Muffler,stock 12 lbs.SLP 7 lbs.
Seat,stock 15 lbs,Boss 5 lbs.
Skid mods, stock 48 lbs, with bogies off and two wheel kit 45lbs.
Track,stock 48lbs,new 57lbs.(longer track added weight,153 to a 156)
Skis,stock 5lbs,SLP 6lbs.
Also took foam out from hood and added Tammys vents.Removed any insul we could to lighten it up as much as possible.

Also installed my new graphics from ArcticFX.I had them done like Eddie Van Halens "Frankenstien" gutiar. That is how I came to name it "Frankie".

We hope to go for the first ride on it next weekend.Let it snow!!
