Ski-doo xp.....terrible !!

I did a trip through Valemont, Revelstoke and Golden. I was riding a 2009 Ski-doo XP800 162 X and it was the worst sled that i have ever ridden. When climbing the front end was so light that it would dart all over the hill. I think this is also because of the garbage 16inch wide track causing to much flotation. We had a m1000, m8 and a 800 dragon in our group and the ski-doo XP was the laughing stock of the mountain. Not to mention the thing went through 3 belts in 6 days because of ski-doos trash can clutch and yes i did break in the belts properly. I'm sorry to pick apart the sled like this but it was the worst sled i have ridden in some time.

Anyone one else have problems with them? Was it just the one that i was riding?

Thanks.

Wow.
Darn light front ends...
Ya, I hate it when my skiis are in the air all the way up a climb! :D
I also hate all the floatation the 16" wide track offers.
Nice first post!

no kidding dude, you sound like somebody who would compain about driving a turbo sled because it was to fast....

yeah, i know, they dart, its like the new chassis makes it way easy to ride and you dont have to put a lot of effort to make it react!!! and darn all taht flotation!!! its like people pay for all the track that just makes it suck!!

i will give you the clutching probably was a bit off, but thats just the way they DOO it.

and its obviously not yours by the way you said things, so im assuming its set up for your riding style, and your weight and all that?? i hop on peoples sleds who are very simmilar to mine and I CANNOT ride them because of the way they handle compared to mine. its all what your used to, i think dragons are to tippy after riding my sled, does that mean i make a post about how they are way unstable?? NO, just different, sounds like somebody cant ride and got all butthurt about it, good thinking, blame the sled.

One hundred percent agree.

We were in Golden two weeks ago, three of my buddies and I, one had a polaris Dragon, the others had Arctic Cats, and I had this POS ski-doo.

My Dragon was being borrowed by a friend for a week, he's down in Wyoming, and I had to rent this thing.

I assumed Ski-Doo had fixed all there problems considering they had 25 Million in warranty claims last year. But i was wrong.

The Doo has great power and everything but yeah, like you said, its a god damned squirrel on the hill. Its jumping around all over the place trying to dart into the trees. Its a real mess.

All of my buddies were teasing me for having to rent this hunk of junk, and I never will rent one again. It was one hundred percent complete **** trash.

I have a Yamaha Kodiak 450 quad with a snow plow on the front that i will trade you for the XP since it sounds like you are into poor flotation and heavy front ends. That should get you all over the place in Revy...lol

Not neccessarily do I believe it has poor flotation its just it has to ****ing much. Everyone I know complains that with no weight on the thing, it just glides around with barely any power.

Sorry guys thought i could get some good feed back from everyone. I didnt make the post to get all the ski-doo fans mad just wanted to know if i should change a few things or w/e. I was just really mad that i just bought the thing and it really did perform well or anywhere near the competition.

You might benefit from spending a day with someone who knows how to ride giving you some pointers. Like the XP or not, pretty much anyone will tell you its one of the easiest sleds to ride.

You fella's should head over to the Polaris section. They'll agree with you and pump you boyz up even more.............cheers:beer;

i just hate it when my skis are off the ground when im pulling a big chute!!! you must be retarded? most people like it when their skis never touch the snow on a big climb. I will admit doo's clutching isnt really the best. You said you broke in each belt. how exactly did you break in each belt. I have over 300 miles on my first belt. yeah i havent been to the mtns yet but still.

Just came from Racer Edge shop. Daryl and Lance are building a rear suspension to work like an M-10 that keeps the nose down on the climbs. I used to own a M-10 sled and did not like it for climbing as it always left me stuck facing uphill. It was so planted on the front that you could not make a hook at the end of the climb. If this is what you like, call Racers Edge and you will climb way better.
