Castle Peak
Sunday rode from DLI to Castle Peak. Had about 12-16" of fresh at some of the bowls around Castle Peak(8500'). Still lots of snow when you get up high.

Has anybody been in to Castle Peak (& surrounding areas) this week? Just wondering what the most recent conditions are.
We were there Sat.There was good snow

Rode there today and It was GREAT
I had a good ride today with Scott (PowderHound) around Fordyce and over by Castle. We found soft snow on the back side of Basin and Castle but not a lot. We didn't hit the snow till after 10:00 to let it soften up a little. We did see 3 sleds on the back side of Castle and two over by White Rock head up Lola. Great Ride Scott thanks for leading the old man around. Boy It's nice following.

Great Ride out of Donner today with too many to name....besides I'm getting old and senile
Oberti's sled pulled like a freight-train and looks like he's on track again!

...and Smash.... Well... I think I heard someone say today that he had a bad ear infection at some point...

Moutainhorse,
how were the snow conditions. Road there last Sunday and still plenty of good snow. Riding from Donner, snow was getting pretty thin. Will there still be enough to ride from donner next weekend?

Don't worry Phatty, it will be spring conditions, but there is still plenty of snow left. It's going to be awesome!!
the sad thing is i could drive 3 hours north into wyoming and ride in jan/feb pow conditions... its been unreal up there...
I cant wait to ride in the t-shirt and get a cali tan while sledding! spring snow is good fun climbing snow... time to put up or shut up!!!

Sign at LTS this morning said they will be plowing the road next week to Meadow Lake turnoff. Sign looked like it was updated on 4/5.
Need some snow. All the chutes are tracked. I saw tracks in spots I have never seen before today. People have been stepping it up. Paradise chutes are being abused.

We climbed some crazy things yesterday in Paradise, Castle, Warren and Devils Oven. Awesome day!!!

This wouldn't be such a bad thing. We could get places a bit quicker and less fuel.
Anthony...I drive by LTS every morning. I will check and let you know if they have plowed.
way to save it for the camera!!! There better be some good untracked stuff left there... im looking forward to riding at 60 degrees!

Anthony, did you over by White Rock and Lola? That's were we saw a climb that blew our minds. The only one we didnt try for the day. WOW. Paradise was like a resort. Ski/snowboard tracks, highways up all the chutes and tracks all over in between. I remeber 12 years ago when we spent the day just trying to get to Paradise!!!! LOL
