SILBER PRO KITS

Thank you for the updates for our readers Justin.

The Comp Turbos do not have that much validation time on the with 2-stroke motors... Your customers BENEFIT from a tried/true design that you are running.

With over 100 kits on order, I'm sure that you wanted to make sure that the kits were rock solid for your customers.

justin, i see u have a option for an intercooler. is this something that will help alot.. and are you still shootin for the end of this month to release kit. thanks

Iam hoping to have 10 kits ready to go monday morning. I had to reorder alot of parts as the turbo placement has changed slightly due to not being able to stand the turbo vertically. So we are waiting on exhaust pipe and new flanges.

The intercooler, personally will only help for the first 5 minutes of riding. The lack of airflow in the Pro chassis, limits the intercoolers ability to actually drop temps. It becomes soaked with heat, and keeps charge temps at a higher level.

Alot of time went into developing the right size airbox to fit this Pro, to allow it to have a snappy bottom end and maintain a good top end performance. Matched with our secondary injector placement and coldair intake for the turbo, our kits can safetly run 15 psi of boost with recommended high octane fuels.

Thanks

Thanks for your understanding MH.

Last season when we were introduced to the Pro Rmk, is when we had our work cut out for us. We held back shipping on the 2011 kits until they were ready to go, and we knew they were going to run out of the box. All of the parts that actually make the Pro run and be reliable with boost are unchanged, and will stay unchanged in future years.

Kinda was looking forward to an oil less turbo, but thanks for not selling us something that wasn't ready! Looking forward to getting the kit and getting it on the sled. Instant spool up, IMO, is WAY better than not having an oil resivoir.

So with the changes to the set up is the intercooler an option now? And if so how much to upgrade it?

At sea level I hear it helps a lot. Am I too far off with that?

Also (with no owning a turboed sled experience) do you have to worry about flipping the sled over and draining all the oil out like you do on a yammi?

The design of any oiled turbo will allow leakage of oil parts the piston ring seals of the shafts during extreme angles of the turbo for a extended period of time. So now matter what turbo kit or turbo you run. It can and will leak oil into the housings no matter what is done to stop it. The center cartridge has an oil cavity that holds oil so when its tilted it has the possibility to leak. The turbo stand will come with an oil sight tube to monitor oil levels. And should be checked before every ride, this relates to any turboed sled.

Gents Justin and I have spent months working on the oiless design. This is a challenging design and Justin nor I want to bring a product to the market that we are not 100% confident in for our customers. The testing/design that we have done is nothing the market has done before. Most of the current oiless designed turbos will not stand behind there product to ensure they will meet the customers requirements and what the service interval would be. To be honest most just dont know how long they will last. Justin and I are on conferrence calls daily with vendors and every weekend for months. Since I began working with Justin on this design I respect him and his business more now considering that he didnt just settle for one of our several designs to release to his customers. I have been designing and working as an automotive engineer for 7 years now and there arent many manufactures that will do what Justin has done for his customers. If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact myself or Justin.

Thanks for the quick response and info! What you guys do is well over my head. You've been great so far answering all my questions, and Ive had some dumb ones for ya, and still have not heard of an unhappy customer of yours regardless of if they were even your customers! Thanks again.

Well, I for one am a bit relieved about the decision to drop the oil less turbo. I did not feel like doing R&D in the mountains with an unproven design with chopper rides at $750.00 plus. Silber says they will offer the oil less upgrade after they get it figured out at cost. That is good enough for me. Now let's get the kit here...ok?

Justin I snowchecked a turbo kit with you. Will you send me an invoice to let me know when to send in the rest of the money? I put the standard $500 deposit down. What is the balance owed and the address to send it to? I have a few bucks saved up and don't mind sending you the balance now. Also, I think a previous posters question was about oil leaking out of the storage tank, not out of the turbo center. That is a question I have anyway so could you address that? Thank you for planning on offering an oil less center upgrade down the road, that is something I WILL purchase from you when ready.

I to was not sold on the oil less turbo and glad he is sticking with what is proven. My concerns were it need to be repacked every year like some of the others on the market or break down in lubrication.once he logs some miles on it i would do the upgrade. I must say Justin seems like a great guy over the phone returns all calls and takes the time to talk with ya.
