Sickest Climb in WA?

Was the guy at Stampede Pass with the huge truck and the 8ft ramp!! That guy had nutz the size of bowling balls!!

No way in HELL i would even consider that!!!:eek::eek:

LMAO....wait a minute; I got a big-azz truck with an 8 ft. ramp  And I just noticed that both stones have "Hammer" stamped on them.....WTF???? But I wasn't at Stampede...LOL

Ball-sack is a quite unambiguous looking short climb that appears to terminate into the trees. But there is a very narrow slot into the trees and you climb the avy chute all the way to the top of the ridge. It starts near the road to Knox Creek and winds up on top of North Peak.

Hey wapow, I did not try to high jack your thread,I started riding from that snow park 14 years ago.I have a great story while on a family ride I jumped over the side with my son in front of my wife,dad, and mom.Holy chit did i catch hell.The boy was screaming do it again,everybody else was not happy:beer;The little boy has my old sled now so we dont have to swap helmet paint cheers!:beer;

The sickest climb is at bearpaw - from the lake drop off to the left down a chute to another lake and try to get back out! Lots of trees, narrow and steeeep!!! There are a few of other very technical climbs up there. The drop at blewitt is nothing, and chaincase hill can be intimidating, but there is lots of area to slow down. It does get the heart pumping when you break over the top! Also if you want to slow down going down hill, just hit the reverse button - saves weight of chains. I really like the chute at Baker - what a feeling when you go over the top! :D:D:D

Cut throat peak from the Rainy Pass side is a good one. I cots me about a buck or two in gas and oil to go up and about $5500 in parts and ego on the way down plus a little blood in the urine.

I'm going back to kick its arse this spring and hopefully there won't be a stuck sledder in the only line down this time.

I've always wanted to try reverse but thats gotta leave a mark in the moter??

Been to the rim on Mt. St.Helens several times, fun climb, really fun coming down sometimes. The WSW side is the hardest route I've done. I think the West side would be even harder.

Never been to Baker. Maybe someday.

Talked to a guy at a high school wrestling match that has been to the top of Adams. Riding the Rez though, as the Yakima Indians own the top. Sounds to me like that would be the longest and tallest in Washington. I can't imagine what the trip down off that one would be like! As far as the "sickest climb in WA", that would get my vote.

Legal to the summit

Probably a dumb Q, but is it legal to ride to the top of MSH? I've skied it a few times. Definitely a major climb, with not many spots to slow down on the return trip.=QUOTE]

its legal as long as your snowmobile is. when you buy your tags/snopark permit, you pay for the same thing (among other things) as getting a climbing permit for above 4800' contour.

not sure if my 500 has the power and track but, i think i'm ready for the summit:beer;:D

I was a baker last weekend and saw a guy climb from the horse barn up to the look out. Very impressive (and crazy if you ask me) and you would never catch me climb that. I'm a wimp.

As for the climb that was refered to at Blewitt. The hill at blewitt doesn't even come close to Baker's horse barn in my opinion. I might try the one at Blewitt (again, I am a wimp) but never in a million years would I try the horse barn.

Horse barn to lookout is a walk in the park once you try it.

there is a sick shoot in a secret area that only a Tapex or watercraft 1200 could do. I would tell yall where it is but then I would have to self destruct this message

Horse Barn to Lookout--did in the summer of 99--lots of angle changes on her and no run out. But once you have done her--not to bad.

Here is a picture of a guy climbing out of the crater at Baker and going to the very top of the hill-if you look real close at the first picture--you can see the dot(rider) at the top of the first pull to the top, but what you do not see in the picture is the chute he had to go up to get there--NO mistakes allowed, cliff on one side and rocks on the other about 30' wide and vertical--HP required--Then the rest of us in the crater going--NOT-Nutts if ya ask me--and I was riding with the guy--mtnturbo is the rider.

I know the spot at blewett, been there lots and it looks steeper then what it really is, however in places it is VERY steep, I would not want to come down that, id rather bail. The first time I dropped down into the bottom I was 16 and I crossed the road and marked out not too far up and I dont want to ever do that again. but this summer i want to go up there and park at the intersection and hike across the ridge top and see if you could climb that face and then ride the ridge back to the main road at the top. I have seen a guy down in the bottom that ripped his track in half (ported) and had to use a come-along to get out, I have also worked with a guy who crossed the road and came down and wiped out when his skis hit the road because of the steepness of the bank. Lions rock has some steep climbs that have yet to be done, but again coming down would not be fun.

How big of lift and what size tires are we talkin on this truck?

anyone have any pics of chaincase hill?

in that canyon on the saint helens pic that looks like a sick climb up that canyon wall.

Very impressive! I know that spot well. Your pictures barely convey how sketchy that spot is. Lose it there and his sled (and maybe him too) would be down in the fumaroles.

OK, it's official, the spot I mentioned on Blewett is not nearly as tough as it looks.

to the top

horse barn is ok to the top is a good one not a bad climb but you got to make that corner at the bottom by the vent.Pembs are a lot of fun but the best bar none is Jackson Hole SNOW KING MTN towers 3-5 spectators are for traction if you can get'em

H20SKE If I rememder right that day. I climb the horse barn to lookout chute. And you roll a boorrowed sled down the hill. I might have pics.

Just a minute--I rolled NO sled--borrowed or not--I flipped it in to the top of the trees:eek::D
Remeber we tied a rope on it and let it down through the trees upside down then rolled it over and road it down the hill--That was a eye opener.

I would love to see that picture--ya did not send me that one.

Mr Prez---I am waiting;)
