Hi everyone, we have been not so patiently waiting for snow to ride this year. Well I finally got out today. Jason has a ton of family stuff going on for the holidays so he didn't make it today. We are still in need of snow real bad. We got some fresh snow but it rained last night so it was crusty on top with some so so stuff underneath. Put on about 20 miles mostly just breaking in the sled getting it loosened up. I did start riding it a bit harder after the 10 mile mark but no sustained WOT. We did not have the visibility or snow conditions for anything more anyway. As normal the sled ran much smoother and stronger as it began to break in. The speedo is off because of the 7 tooth driver and we will be addressing it shortly. We are running SLP clutching this year and have sent quite a few in to get shimmed, balanced and loaded with their recommended set up for each build. We had two Stage III sleds with this clutching today and the set up was spot on. I would think this type of snow would be a good test as the load would be ever changing with the combination of crust and powder. The 3" Powerclaw was great. We had an almost identical sled with the 2.6" there so it was real easy to see the difference. It reminded me of when we went from the 2.25 to the 2.6....it's that much better. I was running Mohawk skis today and was hoping to give a positive review, but in this snow the best ski was the stock Arctic Cat ski we had on a stock sled. Sometimes less is more and today the skinny non aggressive ski handled the best. The Fox Factory Series Float 3 Evol R shocks felt real good but I had the front set a bit soft for this type of snow. Skid shocks worked real good. TKI belt drive worked good and belt tension was consistent. Could not really feel a difference between that and the chain drive mod sled we had there today. Both sleds I was riding today had BD-X boards on them and they felt good. Hopefully we will get some real powder soon so we can really see how the sleds are going to work in the kind of snow we have them set up for. I will try to load a cell phone video...it's not that great so no making fun of it.

Thanks,
Woody

So I am going to be running the same setup really soon I hope. The slp stage III and the tki belt drive with the 3" and 7 tooth driver. So my question is what are running for clutching primary and secondary? Thanks

They are set up per SLP setting for the Stage III kit. You can see the recommended settings in the instructions for the Stage III kit on SLP website. Your exact components will depend on elevation. We sent the primary clutches to them so they could shim them for their weights and then balance them. Secondary is stock.

Thanks,
Woody

What Rpm does the SLP clutching engage?

I will have to check next time we ride. It is very smooth. I am going guess about 3500-3700. We were watching shift speed and it was right on the money.

Thanks,
Woody
