For all those people knocken my rep for speaking about Burandt read this.

I"m not a big fan of private industry on public land in the first place but if you are going to do it atleast do it right and legit like Brown and Adams have done. In my opion Burandt stole from the legit guide services on Rabbit Ears all of us tax paying Americans.

I recommend spending your money on going to new places. Travel to more places and get a local guide for that territory. You'll get way more value plus more adventure. If one of those "clinics" are in the area you want to see then go for it. There seems to be someone offering a "clinic" in almost every state now.

I would do Burandt again in a heart beat! Lodging and meals were great and I thought he was very humble for a "pro". He helped the guys on the ride that were capable riders :)

WOW, thank you for the kind words! We are very excited for our first year of operation. If anyone has any questions or would like more detailed information on Mountain Skillz, please feel free to pm me, email matt@mountainskillz.com or call me @ 719-849-3168.

I have ridden with Adams, Brown, and Burandt(and Skinner) and I would highly recommend riding with any and all of them. My suggestion would be to do a little research and have an idea what you are going to be doing with each of them because thankfully, each experience will be much different. Hope everyone has a great winter everywhere!

Thanks, Matt

It's a lot of money for these outfits but lots can learn from these guys, I have been thinking a lot about hitting up one of these operations buts it's more so out of curiosity to see where I sit with the pros talent wise, a lot of the tricks that are being tought have been around for a awhile and I've seen a lot of people including myself doing these tricks without even realizing it over the years, just learned from natural progression

Did a day with Burandt once, had a great day, got pushed plenty, and since someone else paid... it was well worth my money :D

IF you're looking for instruction, that is NOT the way to go. I was hoping for some pointers, even asked a couple questions... he's just not a teacher. THAT SAID, not everyone is looking for that, so nothing wrong with that AT ALL.

I thought it was going to be a little different than it was... but doesn't mean I didn't come back to the trailer after a blast of a day beat, thinking it was a day well spent!

If I were to do it again, I'd probably go hit Entz up & make him teach me somethin useful! He may be "tree trash", but I think I could learn a thing or two from him :D I'd be insterested in checking out Next Level as well, I've heard Dan is a very a good teacher.

Having Ridden with Matt a number of times, he's humble enough that I think he would also be a really good teacher if that's the direction he's going... (imo, a teacher has to be able to empathize with the steps it took to get to that point, being good doesn't make someone a teacher) I'd definitely rather give him my hard earned cash over the rest of the field!:yo:

I rode with rassmussen and jenkins and had a hayday. Didn't really learn anything. It was just an awesome day. The main reason I went was to get my wife some instruction. I knew she would listen to brett where she doesn't with me, or I get " I can't". The only thing that sucked was I was sick and that zapped the energy level. I take it back on the learn something. Jenkins and I helped flip a guys m1000 over backwards to get it unstuck. Never done that before. As far as instruction, there was a little to size up the group and then it was just riding which was more up my ally. I would ride with all of them, every day, if it was in the budget but I have a 2 year old at home.

Honestly after thinking about it for a few days, I decided I would rather buy an enclosed trailer and set it up for overnight trips. My brother in-law and I are just going to ride like 4 or 5 days a week and get better on our own :). The sale of my business we be final tomorrow and I can't wait to spend as many days as possible on the snow!

Matt is right. Everyone offers a different experience. Some focus on teaching new skills and some focus on the trip. I personally think that you would have fun with all of them...Dan, Burandt/Sahen or Matt.

I like teaching people. I like to help people improve their technical skills so that they can improve their riding experience. I am an Active member of the Canadian Avalanche Association and teach two day (AST1) avalanche courses as well as the one day (Companion Rescue Skills) course. Whether I'm teaching a riding clinic or daily operations in Whistler I focus on technical riding skills, avalanche safety/awareness and having a great time in some of the most beautiful places to ride in BC.

In Whistler there are several other tour companies that either have their own tenure or have a sub-tenure agreement. I also have sub-tenure agreements for my riding clinics throughout interior BC and in the US. Permitting is not easy nor is it inexpensive but I believe everyone mentioned is running a legal operation.

I know Dan, Matt, Burandt/Sahen and myself are all very positive people and do our best to support our sport and the industry. I appreciate all of the support I have received from my sponsors and I hope to share everything I have learned along the way with everyone I ride with. I have met some really amazing people over the years snowmobiling who share the same passion. It really is all about having fun with family and friends at the end of the day.

I hope everyone starts getting snow...!!!

Ride safe and have fun this winter :)

Why would you ladies pay money for something I will tell you for free? Sack up, point your skis that direction, squeeze the throttle, and hit it! If any further instruction than that is required, you're probably just going to hurt yourself anyway and should just head out to the meadow and work on some chit hooks. That will be $5 please

And I was wondering where the Mighty Duke was.....................he's been lurking:face-icon-small-sho and just waiting for the right opportunity to pounce. I will say this.........Duke taught me how NOT TO JUMP for free! That's right, I said free. He lined me up on a 60'er over a road and into a jungle for the shutdown. Just to make sure I did it INCORRECTLY, he had me do it three times. I did fine on the first two, and did, indeed fail on the third. Again, keep in mind that he didnt charge me anything for this...............it was priceless. Thanks again Duke:face-icon-small-hap

It's not like I charged you anything... what did you expect? Does this ring a dingaling? You have a sled this year that can actually get off the ground right? You ready? I know backcountryislife & dbook have been begging me to show them how to catch air. Maybe group instruction is in order?

VVVVVVVVV Don't do this VVVVVVVVV
