Recover my sled, should I pay or welch?

Being familiar with the area these sleds were abandon....They got off cheap. This is only a place for top notch riders with lotsa HP duning deep powder days. Lost 2 of the best riders I know in ths same place last year. Had search and rescue ready to go to try tp get them. They came in just when we were heading out after them.

I might add Kody and crew were part of the search party.

Helping a sleder in need when you come across while riding is one thing. Dropping into hell to get their sleds out after they walked out is another. This would be no easy task until the spring snow set up.

As I said earlier, your insurance will pay the extraction cost minus the deductable.

I think a company charging $50.00 an hr is cheap and well worth it. If you can get the sled to the snow cat its easier and safer to tow out. I'd much rather have a wrecked sled loaded on a Snow Cat. I'd gladly pay that price too.

I'm glad Lincoln County Customs extracted my sled and I feel I got a great deal and it was more than the $250.00 paid in this thread.

So did I miss something or was this a thread started by someone who didn't have a dog in the hunt anyway and was really much adieu about nothing? If Beeman 800 was my riding buddy, I'd be looking for an upgrade!

I heard about this last time we were out there from some guy at the bar. Just wanted to see if there was any truth to it. Apparently I ruffled some peeps feathers.

To solve the problem once and for all

To avoid this situation in the future and save all the untracked powder for me . I would recommend ridding in your neighborhood, when you do get stick you can then have your wife pull you out with the mini van. I'm exempt since I don't have a wife and women seem to be bothered by my mere presence . If that wont work for you then "help a brother out" when he needs help, were all in this together . I looks bad when "they " have to come in and get "us" or our broken sh!t out of the hills.

I want to say to all that have replied to this please re-read my post. I in NO way implicated both parties here and I clearly said it was "one" of the fellows that didnt pay. NEWMY1 is a stand up guy and took care of his business! Not to mention he had to take care of his friends. I think his freind is throwing out some lame excuses and is the one that is not replying to the questions here.

And I guess a PM would have been too much trouble.

Actually I am going to side with Beeman here. We have all heard the saying. "IT ONLY TAKES ONE GUY TO SCREW IT UP" At least this way it put the preasure on the correct person and made it a good public awareness on how to take care of your guides or peeps that are helping you out. I for one would hate to lose a resource like this because of the "one guy that screwed it up"

Ya but it cuts up the roof of your mouth.

You need to put the Captain Crunch in the bowl, pour milk all over it and put it in the freezer. Go shave (or get dressed .... ) and then get your bowl and a spoon. Your Captain Crunch will be slightly softened and cold as hell. But then again I like Crunch Berries better, there’s nothing as refreshing as fake strawberries!
