Rabbit Ears and Buffalo Pass

Rode the Ears today with a few guys and we had a good time. Snow was decent, a little thin in spots but, all in all, it will make a pretty good base for the next few storms. Nobody had any carnage and we were able to get off the trails and ride in the meadows. It was a perfect day to tune the new motor and the other guys to try out their new iron. The club started grooming towards Buff Pass and the guys saw some moose. Started out as a bluebird day and when we got back to the trucks it was starting snow pretty good! It's not as bad as you think, you just have to be careful! Have fun!

1" of new snow Tuesday morning!

I forgot a camera both days that I rode. Man, I'm glad that I got to sleep in this morning, 2 days riding and tons of traveling wore me out. I sure hope my new ride comes in this week, though I doubt it will. It's going to be soooooo much fun.

Yep, it was a good first ride with Yammerhammer, SkiBreeze, OldSkool (Alvin), and PJthemunchkin. Plenty of decent powder, only a few minor rocks, some tree boondocking...

Pictures and videos will be coming, busy at work this morning and haven't had a chance to get them off my phone yet (I forgot my real camera too...)

Alvin, LOL, that's funny! Don't forget your stump at the end of the day!:beer; I had a great time, thanks for being patient while I got the new motor jetted. Can't wait to see how the pics turned out!

Yep, gotta watch those stumps jumping out at ya... :)

Pics aren't the greatest quality, but you get the idea. Got some vids too, but they are .3g2 movies, and it won't let me post them. Anybody know how to convert to .mov?

I don't know how much ya weigh, but I am 215 and on our phazer, I ended up tightening the front suspension as high as she would go and centered the ski's. still tippy (top heavy) but much better. The ski's I don't believe matter as much as the tension on the springs... good luck! :beer;

The mail lot?:confused: If you are talking about the Muddy Creek lot (the one with the bathrooms), yes it is plowed. There is some construction equipment in there taking up space so PLEASE try to park conservatively so others can park too:beer;

The lower lots, Dumont Lot and the East Summit Lots (both sides) are plowed out too, just not as nicely as the skier lots:mad:

buff pass

went to buff pass yesterday and I was pretty impressed, I went in from the town entrance, and the trail was smooth till ya hit the open field and then it was pretty big woops. Stayed on the trail till the restrooms then it was GAME ON !! There seemed to be about 5-6 feet. 3 feet of good solid base with 2-3 on top made some sick turns and climbed most of the day on all the north facing hills. I didnt hit anything but, my brother ( BIG B) took off one whole side of his suspension. Some how his trailing arm just poped off without bending, but broke his shock and all the heim joints, had to strap the sled to the back of mine to get it out after we packed the trail down. So there is great riding but ya still have to be careful and wise. O one more thing it was dumping when I left.

Sorry to hear about that - seen that happen on edge RMKs before - kinda defeats the purpose IMO but did "save" the trailing arm / LOL

At least you had a good day of riding otherwise - sounding like it is getting good up there finally :):)
