thats one problem our country has now. MOST of the people who come are where ever they came from first and american second. totally wrong way to go about it. This is the United States of America and the offical language is English, because there seems to be alot of people who forget that. Learn it, speak it, but keep your heritadge(sp).
This crap of some jobs I've seen posted must be bi-linguel(sp again) is crap. do they still enforce being able to speak english when a person comes into the country? the spanish billboard signs kill me.
It's a free country i know but when ever i see another countrys flag above the AMERICAN FLAG makes me want to go and cut it down. That is some of the worst disrespect i have ever seen.
I personally think, not that it means squat, if african/mexican/ect. americans just became americans alot of disruption would be avoided. and if brown is beautiful so is black and white and every other color of skin.
honesty virtues and integrity is what matters to me. and keeping this country free. when will people learn that we CANNOT give up a little freedom for supposed saftey?

Sure, what our ancestors did to their ancestors was wrong beyond words.
However, How would today's Negro's quality of life be if our ancestors had not
enslaved their ancestors?
I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've asked that same question...we had to fight a bloody war to declair our freedom from brittain...we did it and made a great country out of the deal. How many white americans do you hear *****ing about getting fckd over by the Britts today?? How many white americans do you hear blaming all their problems on the Britts?? So african americans had to work the fields for us for a while, now they have equal rights if not more rights than us. Their quality of life is way better than most of Africas, so I suggest that they kill all the belly aching about racism and enjoy this great country...SLAVERY IS OVER!!!
Think what you want about my views, I don't judge anybody until I meet them for myself reguardless of color, I'm just tired of all the whining from the blacks about something that nobody alive today can do anything about...Its called HISTORY...MOVE ON

I was not trying to be mean, just pointing out my observation. You remind me a little of a teacher my son had when we lived in oregon....always trying to come up with some earth shattering, profound question.
She tried way to hard to prove to everyone how smart she thought she was
(clears throat) actually bud the united states does not have an official language....i did a lot of research on that one too because I think it's BS. You're either american or your not. you can be an african that has come to america or a mexican that has come to america but if you were born here, guess what you are an american and if you dont like that go someplace else. Instead people just whine and ask for handouts. They get away with it because no one will stop them or address that issue because it's not real high up on the political agenda and could cause a complete loss of power to the party that does identify it. Complacency is the contributing factor to this. I am an American I will stand up for what I believe in. If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.

You are correct.
They tried to pass a bill to make English the official language, but the democrats killed it. Said it discriminated against people that didn't want to speak english.
Technically the United States does NOT have an official language. No where in our constitution no where in our legislature does it say English is our official language. (Just so you know).
We all assume it is, since that is what we speak. Other countries literally have it wrote into their constitution or make the claim somewhere else.
The United States is also the only country that speaks only ONE language. Hell even Canada speaks two!
Do I think you should learn English but I don't think it's such a bad thing to speak other languages.
African-American= Black American
Spanish American = Spanish Decent American
Irish American = Irish Decent American
American = European American

Yes 75% of slaves came from Sierra Leone, of that 75%, 73% went to Brazil. The slaves were traded like you would trade furs for guns.
and yes i believe that i am now Native American an on every one of those damn forms that i have to put my race i am going to put Native American! or maybe "other" Ohioan"
