No matter what your on, if you go across snow, your going to make a track. If you have a group of smelly hippies, the guy in the back isn't going to get fresh powder. Same for the guy in the back of a sled pack. as for "environmental impact" as soon as the snow melts, so do the tracks. There are disrespectful people all over, leaving garbage in the woods, skier or sledder. Stop singling out the sledders just because you don't like them. I have been riding for 6 years, and have only ever ridden with 1 person that was out right littering. More people drive down the road and toss chit outta their cars. Fact is, your NOT going to save the world, make everyone happy, and save the idiots from themselves. I slow down, and move over when I see people skiing, and I always get met with a smile and a wave for that. They are enjoying the snow their way, and I'm doing it my way. It's just a battle of who can cry the most, and my experience tells me, the libby's are way better at crying than the people that just want to go out, and have some fun in the snow. Apparently, tantrums work.

Rob Mullins of Leavenworth is responsible for all this negative publicity, which is actually going to do way more to track up his little trapping honeyhole or what ever he thinks it is. All this talk on here is going to bring more granolas and more squids to my backyard. Thanks to all. I am currently getting my AT setup dialed and working out on my off road motorcycle so I can make sure to track up All the good lines even if the forest circus closes the whole f in forest to motorized use. People should really have better things to do with their short time here.:rose::rose::thumb:

And you think statements like this help our/your cause?
A lot of us are working with the Forest Service to put up more signs marking wilderness territories.....working with other sledders to help police ourselves to help foster and better develop a relationship with the Forest Service.

I don't agree with all of our land being taken away and I'm doing everything I can as a sledder to help keep what we have.

What are you doing........except making derogatory statements about the Forest Service and blatantly announcing that you're not going to follow the rules? You and sledders like you give snowmobilers a bad name, you are doing the exact same thing you're blaming Rob Mullins for.

I urge you to become part of the solution, not the problem. The Forest is not as free as it was when we grew up. Its a unfortunate fact of life. But, sledders and forest enthusiasts who totally disregard the rules, threaten the use of the forest for everyone.

A must read

I was emailed this letter by an anonymous person who claimed to be an undercover agent for the USFS. It was his wish that I release it to the public.

To Whom It May Concern:

The United States Forest Service motto is caring for the land and serving people. Even though all citizens of the United States of America pay taxes that support the very existence of the United States Forest Service, the USFS has decided that the USFS will only represent the beliefs of a small group of those citizens. The USFS has allied with a minority of this great country. This minority believes the nations land only belongs to them and there self centered, self serving environmental beliefs.

We have all seen the images of the dead animals run over by the wreck less snowmobilers swerving to kill any living being that exists in the woods. Even with education and mandatory headlights, more deer die every day on America’s snowmobile trails than all our hiways combined. And don’t forget about those tree killers. Yes, it’s hard to believe but some of these extreme snowmobilers actually point there sleds right at trees and run them over. They literally crush the life right out of the limbs in an act that can only be described as shameless. Most of the time the operator will be left stranded as his sled is temporarily damaged. But these nature haters tow them out and fix them up, only to return another day in hopes downing another half rack and mutilating another innocent tree.

That is why I have been recruited by the USFS to infiltrate these vigilante extreme snowmobile gangs that are causing such havoc and destruction.
I am going deep undercover with in this secret society of backcountry vandals. It will be a difficult assignment but I decided that it was my duty as an American. I have been training all summer by shot gunning sparks and lighting cigarettes in extreme wind. I even practiced steering with my knees while taking a sip from an ice cold beverage. After months of preparation, my superiors at the USFS have decided I am ready. So watch out you heathens. That beer I hand you is only a ploy to get your fingerprints, that new video “Backcountry Destruction 6” I am filming is really just to document your crimes for evidence. Your days are numbered.

And if any of you do gooders happen to see me shredin somewhere I shouldn’t be, don’t forget that I am undercover and what ever you do don’t jeopardize this investigation by contacting the authorities. I am the authority.

Live and let live.
