Proposed restrictions. VanEpps, Ingalls, Etc. Your input needed.

Please send valid, respectful responses to maintain the right to sled in the areas stated in the first post here. http://www.turns-all-year.com/skiin...topic=16491.from1272497253;topicseen#msg68931
This proposal makes no sense, as half of the land is in-accessible to skiers without sleds. I am a skier with a sled who wants to ski and sled here for years to come. Contact information:

After reading that thread, I am a firm believer that the word "parity" should be removed from english language...lol

I'm thinking "share" and "selfish" should be taught in all schools. Funny how they think that exclucding sledders in an area is fair, but the idea of excluding skiers in a "motorized use" area is a different topic..

YammaDog,

Everyone should read the thread on turns-all-year, including the part where you tell us how you'll instruct your children to leave yellow snow for our drinking water.

Face it, with taunts like that, you're MAKING our case for us. Just wait until people start showing up with video of what sledders really do in the backcountry.

Best,

CookieMonster

backcountry

I have no problem with skiers...but when we have to pay to play in the forest why dont skiers...we have to have a sticker in visable sight so when are they going to have a sticker in visable sight...we pay to have trails groomed and yet skiers make a home on the trail we paid to put down...my 2 cents

LOL...welcome, we don't exclude anyone on the sledding site.....my tongue in cheek comments were in response to your hate filled comments, which I quoted before your admin deleted...read it again.....and if I was you ....I wouldn't drink yellow snow....

Cheers,

Has anyone thought about just getting more road access to / near the wilderness? Maybe increase plowing into new areas for other non-motorized users?

I like the arguments about the amount of terrain we cover in a certain amount of time. Shouldn't that mean we NEED more land because we can cover so much, as compared to skiers and their fresh snow lasts so long in their areas?

The admin didn't delete any of my comments.

You might think my comments were hate-filled, but I think you just hate the truth. Skiers are mostly polite and quiet. But not me.

Just remember, someone is going to start videotaping sledders next winter. And it's not going to be pretty when the USFS gets the video.

Really, it's not.

Best,

CookieMonster

Hey...most of the sledders I know are very polite and would do anything to help anybody, be thankful of that if you ever need help with a rescue in the BC...As for sledders doing something illegal worthy of video taping...have at it...they're breaking the law and well...that comes with penalties. If they're not breaking the law, you might be able to make a video and sell it...if you don't use the cheap camera...

I've admired skiers with the grunt to hike or skin to get the nice lines...but you just brought my opinion of you down one notch for not being able to have an solid open, conversation about who has a "right" to use the back country....don't they make ski lifts for you guys? Maybe you should stay in your designated area.....and change your 4m name to "cat track".....and if you go out of your area...we'll video tape you....LOL:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-hap

cheers,
YD...

What?

I find it interesting that skiers can ride anywhere they want in the whole state, Right? We can ride in a few locations, why do you hate us so bad Cookiemonster? 90% of us are very polite, respectful and enviromentally cautious outdoors man looking to enjoy the beauty of the BC.

I think some of the non bathing hippies do more danger to the enviroment when they swim in a lake during the summer than any motorized machine!

I to have a very good opinion of skiers, but you cookie monster are bringing that opinion down for me!

I think they should keep everyone outta the fresh powder till i have a chance to go get all I want. Then everyone can go ride thru MY tracks!! Oh wait, they're talkin about their clack clack tracks. Whats gonna happen when they visit their favorite Pow stash and find some other skiers already tracked it up:hurt: Hitch up yur skirt, get out and get all u can. It ain't gonna be good all the time, just like for us gas powered guys. You want more access closer to the road? Try the ski areas. You want to stack the odds in your favor. Too bad , thats life. Suck it up and quit Cryin.

TTT

Better get to writing emails and letters....they got some thick headed folks over there doing the same....

The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Supervisor, Becki Heath, has recently received several e-mails requesting that certain areas on the National Forest be designated for non-motorized winter recreation. Supervisor Heath appreciates the interest expressed in these messages and recognizes the need for a range of winter recreation opportunities on the Forest. The Forest Planning process is the appropriate venue for identifying and addressing these types of interests and issues. The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is currently in the process of revising its Forest Plan, and in order for us to address the interests conveyed in recent e-mails we request that you direct future correspondence regarding this topic to the Forest Planning team. Supervisor Heath maintains close communication with the planning team and regularly reviews public input, so she will remain informed of your interests.

Please address future correspondence regarding designating areas for particular types of winter recreation use to: r6_ewzplanrevision@fs.fed.us. {*Please note the third character is an underscore= r6_ (underscore) ewzplanrevision@fs.fed.us} To send comments via US Mail the address is: Forest Plan Revision Team, Okanogan Valley Office, 1240 Second Ave. South, Okanogan, WA 98840.

For more information about the Colville and Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forests- Forest Plan Revision please visit the project website at: www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/forest-plan

Thank you for your interest and thoughtful comments.

We need to formulate a plan.. Too bad some of them are over here keeping tabs on us. Man, do we have to be all secret squirrel? Might have to become a premium member to get a private section for this..

WMC said:
And again, does the opposition to winter non-motorized recreation think it wise to oppose such an area that is on the hit list for several major organizations to prohibit snowmobile riding? In other words, would it be better to defend other areas for snowmobiling? Or does the opposition firmly believe that nothing will change, that snowmobiles will indefinitely have the run of the Forest by default of omission in management?
interesting read here folks

I just read alot of the posts from WMC.....what a selfish person :face-icon-small-dis

He says...."Yes, please study the map and see the few areas where snowmobiles are not allowed on the general Forest. Why should snowmobiles be allowed on 75% of the non-wilderness Forest?"

I ask, why should skiers be allowed on 100% of general forest AND designated wilderness?? I am tired of seeing THEIR tracks messing up MY winter experience! :face-icon-small-win
This guy didn't get told "NO" by his mommy when he was little....probably nursed until he was 10.

Thanks Rob Mullins

Rob Mullins of Leavenworth is responsible for all this negative publicity, which is actually going to do way more to track up his little trapping honeyhole or what ever he thinks it is. All this talk on here is going to bring more granolas and more squids to my backyard. Thanks to all. I am currently getting my AT setup dialed and working out on my off road motorcycle so I can make sure to track up All the good lines even if the forest circus closes the whole f in forest to motorized use. People should really have better things to do with their short time here.:rose::rose::thumb:
